As I don't like small elevators (having been trapped twice) I asked the front desk if she could change my room from 9th floor to a room on a lower floor. She searched with good humour and found me a room on second floor. She was pleased to be of help. The hotel is modern, clean and in a good...

We just stayed one night, asked for a late checkout, ( as our flight was at midnight) Florncia said they would be very full the next night so we could only stay until 12-1. That was fine as usual checkout is 10am. When we went to double check this at 11 the next morning we were told we were already...

This hotel is located in the downtown area just a few blocks from San Telmo, on a major Boulevard close to everything. Our room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was simple but adequate and the staff were attentive and very helpful. Tip: The staff helped out with everything from obtaining blue pesos to negotiating taxi fares. I would highly recommend...

We enjoyed our two night stay at this conveniently located hotel and didn't experience the problem with staff that some other reviewers have mentioned. One note of caution: the hotel arranged for transport to EZE airport for us at a cost of 300 pesos. However when we got to the airport, the driver asked us for another 20 pesos to...

We traveled to Argentina and Chile for a 3 week tour, and this by far was the BEST hotel we stayed at, REGARDLESS OF PRICE. But it was CHEAPER than other budget hotels in Buenos Aires! We know because we stayed 3 nights at another hotel in Buenos Aires. The hotel is on the main boulevard of the city (on...

The staff was also very friendly. The hotel also has a very nice terrace on the second floor. The hotel is located on...

Absolutely wonderful hotel. Loved the location and how beautiful the hotel was. Also loved the Christmas decorations and the huge tree that was placed in the middle of the lobby. The room was spacious and very comfortable with a large bathroom. Very comfortable beds and flat-screen. There was plenty of space for your luggage. The room also had a table...

Hotel Scala is very well situated close to the center and to San telmo. There is also a tube station just 1 min away if you don't want to walk. The rooms are really big and comfortable. It is usually quiet but the doors are maybe not soundproof and you can sometimes hear kids in the corridor (or maybe it...

My friend and I usually will stay together in a twin bedded rooms, but considering the price of this hotel, we have decided to take 2 separate single rooms to have a bit comfort and privacy. When we have got to our rooms, we were pleasantly shocked by the size of the room and there were 2 queen sized beds...

This is a typical 4-star hotel... huge lobby, large rooms, amenities etc. As with most such places, there is nothing really memorable about it, even though you do get a good night's sleep in a huge bed. The location is perfect, the rooms were good, although in need of some retouching here and there. We didn't have much interaction with...

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
