While staying at Milhouse we did two tours with Macarena, the first to San telmo and then to la Boca. She is funny, crazy, honest and informative :) would highly recommend going on a tour with her. The hostel also has great parties.

Brilliant location. Very friendly and helpful staff. The food is really good in the hostel too. Fantastic activities planned for the whole week and it's all on display in the reception area. Make sure to do the Complejo Tango (lesson, dinner & dance). It's well worth the money and it's really fun. The La Boca walking tour is also a must... More

My partner and I spent 5 nights at Milhouse Avenue. We stayed in a private double room with ensuite, it was spacious, clean and warm (in the freezing BA winter). The staff were very helpful and friendly and there was always something happening either at the Avenue or Hippo. We found Avenue had less parties than Hippo which was great... More

Good hostel, helpful staff, clean rooms, decent showers, party hostel, awesome for meeting people, noisy at night, so if your one to go to bed early take ear plugs, because it was the other people going to bed after you that are all having conversations that wake you up. good fun at milhouse!

The hostel is located in the center of BA. The stuff is really friendly and they are always ready to help. The private room is really comfortable. If you would like to know more about the city you should look for Macarena!

Honestly it was a long time for someone to stay in a hostel. Honestly I was on a budget so I didn't have an alternative To be fare the hostel very decent and well located. I was sharing the room with 8 other people and sometimes it was a bit too much, but I manage to make lots of friend... More

We have just stayed at the milhouse avenue hostel for the past 5 nights and have loved every minute! The double room was great, with an amazing shower! I really enjoyed this hostel. I stayed in an 8 bed female dorm room as a solo traveler and met amazing people. There is always something to do at night. The bar area is very social and the staff is friendly and helpful. Hostel was clean and comfortable. The daily walking tours to a different neighborhood of BA are great.

We have now stayed twice at this hostel and it never gets boring! The staff are overly helpful and very friendly, Barbara (on reception), and Jordy and Jared behind the bar especially. The tours are great, especially the Boca tour, which is very cheap and you get to go to Boca Juniors Stadium, which is very cool. There are two... More

We stayed in the 6 bed female dorm at Milhouse. On our way to Uruguay all our belongings were stolen including our money passport and credit cards. We returned to Milhouse after this and I can not stress how helpful the staff were after this traumatic event. They went over and above to help us, spending personal time to help... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
