The location of this hotel looked appealing, near the historic centre of Buenos Aires, but that was about the best feature of this hotel.

The receptionist was a young man that spoke little english. The room was dimly lit and not that clean. The linen was a dark colour and stained. The curtain rail fell off when I tried to open the curtains. The air conditioning did not work, nor did the only light in the bedroom area. The receptionist came and changed the bulb but it still did not work. His reaction was just to shrug.

The bathroom was small, the sink was cracked, the shower over a very grimy looking bath.

The kitchen area was dimly lit, the cabinets were old and the bench top grimy. The fridge was covered in stickers, I did not open it, or the cupboard doors.

The only way to secure the door to the room was to lock it with the key. The lift was only large enough for one person and a suitcase at a time and the stairs narrow and steep.

We used this hotel as a place to sleep during one of the annoyingly common overnight connections at Aeroparque. The night porter was friendly but our room was quite filthy with stained/dirty sheets. We had no hot water and only a trickle of running water such that we were not able to shower. Also, despite the windows being closed, there was a constant influx of cold air (the in-wall heater helped somewhat). The best I can say is that we were glad to only be staying there for 6 hours between flights. Given the low-quality of the room and the cost of the remis between AEP and the hotel, in retrospect, we should have just slept on the floor at AEP (it is permitted), especially since we were not even able to shower. I'm a bit puzzled by the positive reviews, perhaps some of the other rooms are nicer? Do be aware that there is a similar-named hotel in the same area that seem to be of much higher quality...I wonder if some reviews for that place are being inadvertantly listed with... More
