The hotel claims four stars but in the end is only worth three stars. Rooms are small, there is lot of noise from the street and the furniture is kind of aged. Staff is friendly though the hotel does not offer all services that one would expect (e.g. they were not able to help us out with a tooth brush... More

The customer service is acceptable and the location is quite sage. Just around the corner police station number 22, on top of several police car surveying the zone. No so far away from main restaurants in Puerto Madero, and quite near from main shop streets and shopping center. The only complain is the elevator quality is very poor. In high... More

Stay for one night en route to Montevideo. Wanting to stay close to Puerto Madero but not wanting to pay that area prices, I settle for this hotel. It's about 4-5 blocks from the main Puerto Madero's entertaining area and very close to San Telmo. The immediate area around the hotel is unappealing, but I didn't feel unsafe. I agree... More

The hotel was in a very convenient location but the hotel was not too good. There were a lot of different receptionists who personally knew us and helped us throughout our stay from restaurant and trip recommendations to reservations ( even though there was one issue with one trip) and currency exchange. We were able to pay in either Argentinian... More

Australians standard this is not a 4 star hotel. Staff gave us a smooth check in. I was so dissatisfied with the quality of the bed linen and towels. Stains all over them. Red Pillowcases not changed. 2 beside table lamps provide mood lighting but beware, the walls are thin. Elevators are slow. Quicker to take the stairs. Lower levels... More

At best this is a 3-star hotel by international standards. The location is excellent and the front staff were always very helpful. Check-in and out was very quick. There are many lounges in the large foyer which were frequently in use while everyone was waiting for a tour bus or taxi to arrive. Walking distance from some excellent restaurants -... More

Paid top dollar for this hotel - US$392 for 2 nights. Arrive to tacky cheap hotel, small rooms, very basic. Breakfast poor, not much choice. Elevators slow. Bathroom door doesn't close properly, plumbing in bathroom loose, No restaurant or bar. Only blessing was close to town.

If you go to Buenos Aires for the standard visit this could be a good choice. It is a pleasant 15-minute walk from Casa Rosada, and it has a number of buses at your disposal that will take you to Corrientes and the theatre district in just about the same time. Five minutes away you have the Puerto Madero restaurant... More

The accommodation at Unique Art Madero was good enough; good shower, nice bed, plenty of room for 2 and, thank God, WiFi that was actually consistently good. Great breakfast on the top floor and all was supported nicely by the staff. The real champion was the head concierge, Diego, who was superb. He was helpful, articulate, and was on hand... More

We were here for one night. The lobby was nice and the staff friendly. They allowed us to stay few hours more (late check out) without extra cost. Thanks! The room was kind of average and not well illuminated, specially at the writing desk. The furniture was a little impaired. I believe they were doing some kind of renovation, but... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
