Excellent stay at hotel Mundial. I was in a single room which was very big and had a bit of a balcony. The room was cleaned everyday, it had free wifi and quite a lot of space. The place is very functional and has a safe in the room. Unfortunately, no big Mirror in the room, it would be great... More

Pros- One of the receptionists lent us her sube card as most of the cash machines were empty over the weekend. Very central. Cons- The rooms are huge with tall ceilings but with such cheap decor that it ruins the feel of the place. Photos online make this hotel look beautifully decorated and welcoming although the reality is completely different.... More

The hotel is in a *great* location for tourists: within a block of a Subte stop, easy walking distance to the Plaza de Mayo and very close to the plaza with the Congresso, and the Avenue itself is interesting to walk along. There are frequent political demonstrations along the Avenue, but they are peaceful (though loud) and should be viewed... More

We stayed two nights and left cameras and cash in the safe which is located in the bedroom's closet and they disappeared. When we explained the situation to the staff at the reception desk she said it could not have been the cleaner as she had worked for the hotel for many years and advised us to go to the... More

The hotel was cheap and totally worth the price. The lifts were old - fashioned and carpet everywhere. If you're allergic to it, it would be a problem but it gave the hotel an interesting look. The room was nice. Hot water and nice bed. Bedding and towels were replaced everyday. The cons were the TV showing only local news/programs... More

Two blocks from Avenida 9 de Julio and another two away from Congress, Hotel Mundial is a good low budget option in the city center. Rooms are big and clean, breakfast is good. On the down side, the corner of Avenida de Mayo and Santiago del Estero is rather noisy and all rooms face the street, making them rather noisy.... More

When you are on a tight budget, and you have found Hotel Mundial in Buenos Aires, you dont have to waist your time to find something else. You can not find a better price for what you get here. The hotel is located between the Congresso and the Obelisk, next to a good range of restaurants (there are 2 of... More

This hotel is perfectly located. It's a magnificent building from last century. It has an old charm. The staircase and the elevator looks like you are in an old movie. However it visible didn't receive any invested in quite a few years. The rooms are extremely disappointing. More than just basic. If you are looking for comfort you shouldn't stay... More

This really is one of the worst hotels that I've ever been to. Unfortunately, my mother needed to stay at this hotel that did not have air conditioning, dirty, bad service, the rooms humid and smelly. Even though it's not the hotels fault they went without light for a day. The humidity of such an old building made it seem... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
