It was a little pricey but I overall enjoyed my stay in the private room in Kapake. I chose this hostel because it's not a party hostel, I needed some good rest before my Buenos Aires marathon run. I even met fellow runners in the same hostel, I was quite happy. It's very safe, it doesn't allow non residents to...

They made me come to the hostel to pay cash for a private room because the website was not working. I paid and left. Came back the night of my reservation and they had me booked in a dorm and said i needed to pay! i had already paid $45 for a private. The guy "let" me pay AGAIN for...

I stayed for a 6 weeks and really felt like it was my home away from home. Very friendly and helpfull staff (who spoke English), safe, near subway station, clean - and close to restaurants. It is a hostel - with dorms and a few private rooms. It is possible to cook your own meals, large widescreen tv in common...

Me and my sister stayed there in april 2009. It had a terrible breakfast and it was not clean. You can stay at better places for less money in Buenos Aires.

Ironically, given that Kapake is situated near to one of the livliest parts of Buenos Aires, the atmosphere could not have been deader. And I certainly wasn't looking for a party hostel. But as someone else mentioned, the lighting was really dingy, the staff (with one exception) were bored and disinterested and none of the activities (asados, trips) advertised on...

Of course it depends on what you are looking for but I found this hostel to be quiet and clean, which is just what I wanted. Yes, the pics were probably taken when the place was new and the place looks worse in low light. While I booked a bed in room of 6 beds, what I got was a...

The area was great, the staff were REALLY lovely and friendly, but the actual hostel was a bit of a let down. The pictures in the brochure and online were stunning, when we arrived we were surprised at the difference between the pics and the reality! The bathroom was tiny and wasn't all that clean, and it smelled like off...

Kapake is an absolute gem of a hostel in the middle of the nicest barrio in Buenos Aires, Palermo. Right next to Carranza Subte station (line D), the building itself is light and spacious, and the rooms were spotless and comfortable. The bathroom was modern, clean, with great showers. There´s also a great common area with HUGE flatscreen TV, as...
