For US$56 (cash) we had a very nice room with attached bathroom facing a courtyard. The breakfast buffet is more extensive than one usually finds in Argentina. The reception staff were helpful and spoke excellent English. The hotel is a short walk from the Independecia subway stop. I don't think you can find as good a hotel for this price... More

We booked here for two nights between Christmas and New Year before our flight home to the UK. The hotel is in a great location, and our nightly rate for our visit was very low. I spent a couple of weeks in Buenos Aires in an apartment and needed to find a hotel for the last night. I chose this hotel due to its location in san telmo (my favorite neighborhood, and a walking distance from the apartment I was staying at) and its proximity to the subway and public bus. It's best feature is... More

The hotel is strategically located in the city's Old Town (Bohemian quarter). It is close to the subway station and you can get a taxi just outside its doorstep. Grocery stores, bars and all types of restaurants abound in the area. The famous, colourful and must-see Mercado San Telmo (market) is also just 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel.... More

I had booked this hotel prior to my stay and was not made aware that this was a non-refundable hotel booking. Apparently there was a teeny-tiny area that said non-refundable when I booked, but not in the email confirmation. We walked by the place during the first part of our visit which is when we discovered that it is in... More

Hi Brenna we regret what happened but as you probably know the cancellation policies engines reserves are strict for both passengers and hotels that hire them, who must also pay even if reservations are canceled. That's why the same total charge to be a booking non-refundable. It is recommended that in future searches you read the conditions well before generating... More

It is situated in the good part of the town. The breakfast was very good with the overview at the small garden. The room were clean, but the old towels and bed sheets made the room look old. Staying in San Telmo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
