Museum Hotel in Antakya is a destination in itself. What other hotel offers a view of Roman era mosaics from the bar?
The hotel is built over the remains of ancient Antioch. The basement is a museum, Necmi Asfuroğlu Archaeology Museum. The mosaics and remains of streets remain in their original location. The museum entrance is outside of the hotel and there is an entrance fee, but most of the mosaics can be seen from walkways in Museum Hotel.
The rooms or pods are reached by corridors and walkways which are not totally enclosed, to allow air to reach the relics below, so it was a bit drafty when the wind was blowing. The room was large with seating area and large shower room. In some rooms the seating area becomes a bed if twin beds are needed. Rooms have views to the city, to the mountains or internally over the museum. There is a kettle in the room with bottled water, tea and coffee are provided too.
The restaurant is popular with non-guests too so booking is recommended. Food and service is excellent. Menu is mainly local regional dishes and good value. Meals are also available in he bar.
Breakfast buffet is served on the top floor and has an outside dining area, with a view over the city and mountains, as well as plenty of inside seating. There are several lifts to reach this and every floor. There was a wide range of choice of food, including with eggs and omelettes cooked to order. Tea and coffee are brought to the table. Service and cleanliness were excellent.
There is an indoor and outdoor pool and gym with lots of modern equipment.
Reception was efficient and friendly. Taxis wait outside of the hotel most of the time and there is no extra charge for pick up here. In Antakya taxi fares are inexpensive and regulated.
Museum Hotel is about 1 km from the old town and centre of Antakya, A short uphill walk takes you to the church of St. Pierre and Antakya Archeology Museum is also only a 15 minute walk away. Taxi from Antakya Airport takes about 30 minutes.

What an experience! What a Museum! What a hotel ! This place is spectacular! Never seen such a thing before in my life! I have always wished if I can go back in time and experience how the people are living then, staying in this place gives you a glimpse of that, the design of the hotel is amazing, you could look at the excavations just beneath you when you pass on the hallways going to your room , such a wonderful sight, the rooms and suites are excellent and classy, everything is comfortable, the food is very delicious, the staff are friendly and helpful, I have dedicated one full day to stay in the hotel and enjoy it, visiting this place is very very highly recommended.
The only thing that bothered me is my bed room’s window view in suite no. 2201 , where you can see an ignored area with construction’s waste still there, that needs to be cleaned and planted.

The most amazing hotel I’ve ever been to. Incredible design, unique. Meanwhile the hotel is a museum with amazing mosaics and excavations. If you go to Hatay, this is a must!
I booked rooms via Agoda. Rooms with a street view are more expensive but the rooms on the inner side of the hotel have a view on the ruins and mosaics so much better!
They serve great breakfast. If you want to dine in the restaurant of the hotel, make a reservation in advance!

Built over extense amazing mosaics and ruins, this hotel is composed of identical unicameral modules piled over the ancient remains. Unfortunately, the hotel part becomes a labyrinth looking more like an airport than a comfortable luxury hotel. Very few staff can speak English, what makes very difficult to understand any request or comment, like the problems with the card and the elevator, quite frequent, apparently. They didn't connect me to internet, and I had to go back to reception, where the receptionist treated me as if I was dumb, until he realized he had set a wrong code. They gave me a room with a rear view, and although the hotel was half empty, they denied to give me a Mosaic view, very rudely in my opinion. I attach a picture of the view from my window.
If you want to visit the museum, be careful with the visiting hours, because the staff can give you confusing wrong times.
My advice is to come to visit the museum, have a drink at the bar, and find a better and cheaper hotel somewhere around. If this spectacular Hotel concept is not number 1 in Antakya, there is an obvious reason.

Very nice and unique hotel.
Unfortunately, serve is a bit cheap compare expectation and hotel promise.
Breakfast expresso is considered as a lux and charge extra (not very good at breakfast restaurant, need to go to bar)
No tissue in room, no room service, restaurant with limited menu.
No menu of the day, which is it difficult for long stay.
Nice staff but very poor English.
Ordered early breakfast (before 7.00 AM) but they forgot to deliver.
Linen not changed and bed towel put on a floor re-installed as fresh…
Nice Spa and gym.
Experience is spoil by this cheap and unnecessary saving.
Good hotel for leisure and short stay. To avoid for business and long trip

Ismail Yaman was the best in proactive service that I have ever seen. Almost read my mind👍👍 great job!!! Breakfast was also full of local flavours, tasty and unique... strongly recommended....... having your morning treat on top of the oldest mosaics from Roman Empire is priceless.

Where do I begin! My friend and I had actually booked another hotel for our stay in Hatay, but drove by this hotel and thought that we had to check it out.
Architecturally, it is stunning. The rooms are suspended in the air and are connected by solid beams that reach the floor to the ceiling. The historical monuments found at the hotel are also a marvel. We could look down and see the mausoleum sprawled underneath us.
The beds were also super comfy and I had a nice bubble bath. The bath slippers are also amazingly soft. Don't forget to check out the rooftop. The hotel breakfast was also excellent -- we had custom omelettes made. Would recommend!

Probably; the most impressed stay of mine in the last 20 years. Erected on
a 19.000sq m ancient, historical ground on 69 steel pillars; the hotel is not only an architectural wonder but also with every operational detail an impressive and outstanding success.. opened it’s doors just before the Covid-19, the city Antakya , and it’s hinterland with countless historical sites is just gaining momentum for it’s excellence and recognition… don’t know who operates the hotel, but smells after care, dedication and finesse in service, hospitality, food and setting.. the pictures will speak for themselves.. very vert highly recommended…

Very sophisticated area and great service.
But I experienced three unexplained realities.
1. In Hatay, with the region of orange and citrus fruits, we drinked faked orange juice at breakfast. Please do not write orange juice if it is not real.
2. We request late check out from the lady at desk, only give us one hour with a disturbed face with full of warnings. I do not mean the all staff but the lady at the desk is full of negative energy and unkindness.
3. Although we informed the hotel about the museum visit under the hotel, they do not give us free entrance ticket. We learnt free entrance at the front of the museum.

Amazing, If you are planning to stay in Hatay, never look for an alternative. It might be a little expensive but definitely worth for it. You will sleep and wake up in a museum. Restaurants are perfectly fine, meals, vines are excellent, no need to go out for dinner. Very kind and smiley stuff. Rooms are in real 5 star category. Final note, check and watch all you tube videos before you check in to the Hotel.
