If you are on a budget and want a place to stay for the night, no frills, then this place may be for you. It is on the Rota Vicentina and is in the center of Cercal, close to restaurants and cafes and grocery stores.
They are under renovation but I did not hear any noise. The reception is stark simple and the front desk staff were very friendly and courteous. The double bedroom is basic and simply adorned and it was comfortable. The wifi was intermittent but I have a data plan so it was not a problem. The shower had good water pressure and can be as hot as you want it to be.
Breakfast is not included but there are lots of cafes around where you can have a couple of cafe Americanos and a tosta mista, for roughly 3 euros only.
I do agree with some reviewers that the room is a bit pricey, considering the value. But I did check around the area and I did not find anything that was within my budget.

Easy access to Rota, we stayed here at both ends of our 11 day walk. Basic hotel, but a very good value and rooms are clean, if somewhat spartan and small. Ask for a room facing the back with a terrace, which is great for drying clothes.

Right in the centre on town by the roundabout (the only one) the guesthouse is ideally located for hikers of Rota Vicentina, receptionist spoke good English and was able to offer basic directions to local restaurants and supermarket all of which were on the roundabout so within a couple of minutes walk.
My room was super clean with modern bathroom, fully heated and air conditioned.
Wi-fi reception was very poor and TV channels limited to a couple of Portuguese terrestrial stations which is a shame really as the only let downs on what would have been an excellent stay.

We paid 39 euros for a twin room, one night, no breakfast. It's a tall city building, at least 6 floors. The room was big enough, but the beds were not comfortable. No WiFi in the rooms, only in the lobby. The bathroom was clean, but tiny, and its door was hinged backwards. Shower worked fine. The place is under construction, renovation I guess, and it looked it. Price was cheap because of construction noise, but we didn't hear any. Everything about the place is cheap and very sterile: the flooring, the lighting, the hallways, the lobby. The young woman at the check-in desk, Lucia, is half English, and speaks perfect BBC English. She's sympathetic, but seemingly has no command of the cleaning staff or anything else. The place is close to the Rota Vicentina; that, and the price, caused us to book it. But I wouldn't go back there, especially because of the lack of WiFi in the rooms. I'd pay a little more for a place with a little character, and WiFi in the rooms.

Excellent value for money in centre of town. Paulo is very supportive of The Rota Vicentina. The breakfast was varied and good quality and the packed lunch was delicious. All the staff and very friendly and speak good English.

Unfortunately, the hotel was under renovation upon our arrival. The rooms we had were very basic and dated, but at least they were clean. The beds were small and uncomfortable. The staff was accommodating and apologetic about the renovations in progress during our 1 night stay.

About the place, everything was good. Really good.. To compare to size of town and all the facilities in area, even it was the best, really the best.
The bedroom was nice, clean and well decorated, with balcony and air conditioner. Staff were speaking English and kind. We arrived by Rede Express bus, to the main square which was 1minutes from the M&B, easy to reach and also it has an elevator. I liked the place very much. It has whatever we needs
About the city, double check why you are going to Cercal ;):) it's really small town, with kind people who try to help you.
And about traveling , just a note!!
Don't ever travel without car! The bus comes to main square 8:30, 15:45 and that's all! And the latest bus back to Cercal is 18:30! (local and express bus were almost in a close time schedule to each other)
So if you are planning to go to Vila Nova de Milfontes, Car is essential. (Rede express to Vilanova de Milfontes was 8€ one way and the normal local bus were 3.5 or so)
P.S. There is no place to rent a car in Cercal and be careful with taximeters! ;):) it must start from 3.25/3.90€ and not more!

The casazul will offer everything you need, but not much else. Large beds, a shower, breakfast and only a small margin above hostel prices. The staff is very friendly and mostly speaks English, not all though. The breakfast is quite good and provides good value for money. If you are of from Northern Europe you may find it a bit to sweet though, but this is the way of the locals.

We arrived at this hotel after a fantastic walk on the rota vicentina. The check-in was fast and without a problem (beware: international credit cards are not accepted). The room itself was clean and of sufficient size. A nice balcony gives you a chance to relax a little bit after the walk. Breakfast was okay including fresh orange juice. Nearby, a supermarket and some restaurants offer all necessities.

We were doing the Rota Vicentina and arrived hypothermic and extremely dirtty. The staff were so friendly and helpful in sorting us out. The beds were comfortable, the shower hot and powerful and the breakfast adequate and plentiful. It is within walking distance for sore limbs from the centre of town and some fine dining ( ask at reception).
