We were here with a large group of friends. For us the first time. But many of our friends allready come here for many years. The owners create a heaven of peace. All the houses and rooms are spread out, so you have a lot of privacy. It is not luxe, but everything you need is there, lovely dinners. A...

We found this place with google, looking for small, good food, quiet or similar words. Verdemar is an "in the middle of nowhere" B&B where Nuno (a Portuguese who has worked as a chef in Amsterdam) serves an excellent dinner too. His wife Christine manages the place, and their two sons helped too. Many guests are from The Netherlands and return...

We stayed here four nights during a group tour of the Alentejo Coast. The hotel is made up of a series of small buildings with one or more ensuite rooms in each; ours was a duplex. The bathrooms were spacious, the bedroom was large and comfortable and there was a deck area to sit with a small table if we...

Beautiful place, clean and spacious rooms, great food and friendly hosts. On-premise access to figs, apples, grapes, peaches and sabra fruits was an additional bonus. Easy to get to local town, activities and beaches (malhao beach is great) Definitely will go back again.

Lovely place, great value. Friendly couple as mentioned in the other reviews and all details on their website are accurate. Stronger reading lights in the room would be my only suggestion - I needed to use the flashlight on my phone.

Would return in an instant. Was a last minute find on Trip Advisor (thank you, user community!) and value for money was unbeatable. Owners were gracious and warm, meals were fabulous, grounds and property were gorgeous ... overall an extremely relaxing weekend to explore the oft-forgotten Portuguese coast after a week in urban Lisbon. Great memories, helped by this beautiful...

A lovely location for relaxation or walking, cycling. Rooms are set around the main property which gives everyone own space to sit out in the lovely gardens. Pool area is central and good sized pool. We ate our evening meals which are cooked by the owner using local good quality ingredients.

Christine and Nuno have created a wonderful haven here. We only stayed two nights in August on our way from the Algarve to Lisbon but had a lovely stay in what is apparently their smallest room, but which was more than sufficient for our needs. Spotlessly clean cool and comfortable. Nuno's food served at a communal table (children eat earlier...

This rural touristico is off the beaten track, so although you can cycle in the area to make the most of your time here you need a car. We spent 3 nights here, doing cycle routes each day and using the car mid afternoon to investigate coastal areas. The cycle routes are quite short, between 23-40km; a mixture of quiet...

We've just returned from 3 nights at Verdemar. It was a wonderful introduction to Portugal. The breakfasts and evening meals were delicious, the pool and surrounding area was lovely. Our room was quite dark, which meant it kept cool during the hot days. There was a kettle with coffee and teabags in our room and a delightful area to sit...
