I have stayed there for business for a couple of days and I remember the large clean rooms and the fantastic breakfast which was on offer. It is a little bit non-central but you can reach the centre of Stellenbosch within a short walk.

We have stayed at Rustenbosch periodically for the past 6 years while we did the varsity thing with our children. We always had friendly and consistent service, with the staff willing to go the extra mile when requested. The self catering apartments are well-stocked and comfortable and the pool area is a nice extension of the rooms. It is close... More

My husband and I needed a getaway which did not require driving for hours and we came across Rustenbosch on GroupOn. We had an outside secluded classic room (Room4), which leads out to the garden. Even though it was one of the coldest weekends in Stellenbosch with bursts of hail and rain, the room was cosy and comfortable. Our first... More

When we went there over easter weekend. The stay was nice and the lady was very friendly. Just don't let the cleaners clean your room, as they stole my clothes. And when I reported that my pants and top are stolen, all they said was, the 2 cleaners said that they did see it, and left it hanging over the... More

Needed a last minute booking for a wedding...rather than drive back to Camps Bay, we decided to overnight. Rustenbosch had a room available, where all the hotels we knew of were full, so we booked it. The hostess was fabulous, keys were issued and room was well laid out. Breakfast was great, rooms were good value for money, and my... More

I stayed at Rustenbosch one week while working at the University. Nice guest house and great breakfasts, the shared table for the breakfast is not a so good idea indeed. I got room number 3 which is well equiped (small kitchenette with microwave, small fridge, a sink), a bathroom with a shower only, and the room with direct access to... More

With my son at university at Stellenbosch, and staying in digs, we have come down on occasion to assist or just visit him, So really we need somewhere to stay that's close to my son, and Rustenbosch fits that criteria perfectly. The breakfasts there are great and its a short drive to restaurants, shops and all varsity facilities. The vibe... More

We stayed at Rustenbosch in July and again in December 2014. During July the building activities next door were still in full swing, but what a pleasant surprise now that the block of flats next to the guesthouse is finished. Apart from being a beautiful building, it provides much needed accommodation for the ever growing student population. The breakfast menu... More

We are a retired French couple from Canada (Montreal) and traveled South Africa during 2 months renting 31 different lodgings. This one was # 15. We booked an apartment (no 3) which is not located at the same place as the guesthouse. This apartment is one large room with the bed, a kitchen counter, a living room with sofa and... More

We stayed at the self-service apartment, not the guesthouse because we wanted the kitchen. To check-in, you'll have to go to the guesthouse and they'll bring you to the apartment, which is just a bit down the road, around the corner. There's 1 parking spot for each apartment (but it is out in the open, so we were warned of... More
