Undergone extensive renovations. Bathroom well appointed but room was small. Good location. Friendly staff. Breakfast ok. The saviour to the hotel are the gallery of photos and yesteryear charm. Try the colony restaurant within the hotel.

This hotel takes you back in time: - where you would imagine elegantly dressed folk sitting in the luxuriously furnished lounge to either read or have a pre-dinner drink. - where you would have dressed up for dinner which is served in their formal dining room. All so very elegant The passages leading to the rooms are lined with very... More

This is a old colonial hotel that is in need of a little bit of maintenance. Our door handle was very loose. But in general a very clean and restful place. The shower was one of the best I have seen in hotels for a long time. The bed was a bit short for me being only 1.82m but it... More

This hotel is very centrally located. There is a lot of shops and places to eat within walking distance. The hotel itself is really neat because it is such an old building - but I think they are really missing an opportunity with this hotel. The rooms are dated and seem more like a Super 8 hotel. The bed isn't... More

Stephanie, Thank you for your review. Unfortunately the hotel was full at the time and you were checked into one of our last old rooms. All the rest of the rooms have been renewed and fitted with complete new bathrooms. The next reviewer, who stayed here more or less at the same time, had this to say of our new... More

The excellent service from all departments( especially Reception & the Breakfast room ) and the pleasant attitudes from all staff, was outstanding. This is a particularly well managed "private " hotel which sets it apart from the Chain type hotels. No wonder so many foreign visitors were staying there.

We believe that by providing places to hang WET towels you will enhance already pleasant rooms & protect your own assets at the same time. The ambience & feel of yesteryear resonates beautifully throughout the establishment. Quality of WiFi signal somewhat sketchy.

My son and I stayed just one night. Place is clean, right in the center, very good restaurant. Staff is polite but not excessively helpful. A little bit retro but very cheap and so I definitely recommend it.
