We stayed for a night at this beautiful place and wished we could have stayed a week!! Our room was very spacious and clean, and super quiet! The breakfast was yummie! We actually travelled for 18 days through SA and this was the only place that actually serves fresh made smoothies!! Yum yum yum!! We loved our dinner as well!...

We decided to drive R62 and then the backroad through groenfontein and kruisrivier to get to the hotel. Best decision, one of the most amazing roadtrips ever. The scenery was just a stunning. After a very long drive the team at the hotel couldn't have been more welcoming. Our room was lovely. Pre dinner drinks outside watching the sunset was...

We were family of five heading Oudshoorn area as part of our South Africa tour, looking for another different area. We past the town and continue driving and driving not sure what a type of accommodation to expect. Suddenly there it was. We couldn't believe to what we were seeing. A pearl in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful beautiful rooms...

I was pleasantly surprised at the general high standard of the Manor and the friendliness of Leon and Leoni and their son. The views are spectacular and the manor is very central to all the main sites. I would certainly come back with my wife.

This is our favourite Klein Karoo spot. Set amidst working farms, the comfort and luxury of the lodge is just what you need to recharge your mind, body and soul. Birds and farm animals provide the background music. Close enough to not be a trek and far enough to provide a proper escape. Even with other guests in the dining...

An eye opener as to how beautiful the Klein Karoo is. Service was impeccable and food was amazing. Staff are friendly and helpful. Was an absolute pleasure waking up to the view of the mountain in the morning.

Stayed at Swartberg Country Manor during a cycle tour with friends. Exactly the luxury we needed after a long day on the bicycle. Supper at their Patat restaurant was fantastic, not least of which the freshly baked loaf of incredible bread they served after we asked for some extra carbs to prepare us for the day ahead.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Swartberg Country Manor is nestled on the farm "Voorbedacht" situated in the Cango Valley at the foot of the world-renowned Swartberg Pass. The picturesque panoramic view of the Swartberg Mountains will bring comfort to anyone that wants to "get away from it all" and simply soak up the peace of its tranquil surroundings. The farm was purchased in 2003 and welcomed its first guests in February 2005. The extraordinary views of the Swartberg Mountain from the veranda of the original farmhouse compelled us to create a venue where more people could share in the tranquillity and serenity of this beautiful valley."Voorbedacht" farm is a working farm, which offers our guests the unique opportunity to explore and experience the true essence of subsistence farming in the Little Karoo. Among the various agricultural products farmed, we also farm livestock such as, cattle, sheep and ostriches. Daily walks on the farm allow guests to experience the peace and serenity of this beautiful valley, while for the more "wild at heart"; mountain bikes are available to explore the more rugged terrain. ... more   less
