We booked Rietfontein Ostrich Palace as a stopover on our way to Franschhoek, as we had read about their Dinner/Bed/Breakfast packages on tripadvisor.com. Staying in Emma's cottage was delightful, a gorgeous room in a beautiful setting. The Ostrich-Steak dinner was delicious and as other reviewers have commented, the quality of the food and the ambience of the surroundings are so...

We spent just one night, but would have enjoyed several more.... We stayed in Emma's cottage and it was delightful. Lovely private room and beautiful big bathroom. We opted for dinner there and were surprised at the excellent quality of all five courses. We could have been in a good class French restaurant.

Although we had a wonderful stay, we were extremely disappointed that we did not get the room we originally booked. We made our booking in August 2015 for March 2016 & got written confirmation that we will be staying in Emma's room. On arrival were told that there was some mix up & were put in a different room. We...

Found this gem last minute on road trip. The food is of the very best we have had. Emma's Cottage was every bit true to the photos.......every bit of detail in this room left you in awe.......if time had permitted I would have stayed another night without any hesitation.

We chose this location as a resting place on our journey from Cape Town to Plettenberg Bay. On our arrival we took up the offer of an evening meal of ostrich steak from the owner. What we weren't told was that this was a five course meal which neither of us would choose. However, the food was very well cooked....

Beautiful individual quality accommodation. Interesting ostrich farm tour. Superb meal. Bird watching was amazing. Near the beautiful red rocks too. Incredibly peaceful. Would definitely go again and recommend to friends. We stayed in Die Kerkie which was near to the restaurant and the pool.

We stayed 2 nights in the hoepoe unit which is a short drive from the main farm. The rooms were of a high standard and had air conditioning. The location is amazing with views of the red mountains. It is quiet and calm. We had dinner at the main house and the food was excellent, Elmare is a very, very...

We had a truly relaxing time at Rietfontein Oatrich Palace - Elmaré & Kobus are great hosts, welcoming & attentive. The rooms are delightful, food at breakfast & dinner was excellent (don't bother driving 30klm to town for dinner). When we asked for some wine & beer to enjoy on our terrace, Elmaré put it in an ice filled wine...

Off the beaten track and away from the much traveled 'Garden Route' is the wonderful Ostrich-filled area in which the ROP is located. With vast views over rolling hills and mountains, a cacophony of greens and browns show off their colours in the changing sunlight. The place itself is intimate and classy. We were the only guests on our honeymoon...
