Our stay at the Rietfontein Ostrich Palace was one of the highlights of our 3 week trip to South Africa. The setting of the accommodation is truly stunning, with mountains as a backdrop for the day and bright stars at night. The history and architecture of the property through 6 generations of a family, with the hospitality and care shown...

We stayed here over New Years with our 1 year old son. We enjoyed a delicious 5 course meal on the farmhouse stoep, complete with local wine. Our highlight was taking a dip in the rim-flow pool (converted reservoir) with a spectacular view of the mountains in the distance. The owners went out of their way to make us feel...

We stopped over here en route to see the Kango Caves. Elmarie's hospitality and attention to detail is faultless. Nothing is too much. The room was excellent and much bigger than expected. Amazing pool with 360 degrees views. Supper was a real highlight. 4 course meal culminating is the most amazing ostrich steak. Would highly recommend and will definitely be...

We enjoyed a very relaxing weekend in the beautiful Oudtshoorn nature. Our accommodation was excellent with small detail in all the rooms and bathrooms. Breakfasts were delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a lovely morning at the swimming pool. Our hosts were very helpful assisting us when we had a problem with our car. Highly...

We had a superb 3nt stay at the ostrich palace. The room was air conditioned and beautifully furnished with antiques, nice rugs, cushions and drapes. The bed was extremely comfortable with quality linens. The website says there is a TV but we didn't have one, not that we would have switched it on. The wifi was a bit hit and...

Just off R62 ROP is a fantastic retreat. We were met by a couple of staff and led to our room which was located away from the main building - 1.5km or so in the bush. Isolated and serene. Not too many ostriches though. The rooms were well kept and spartan. The TV had Sabc 1 and 2 and fuzzy...

I would have loved a TV in the room to be able to lie in bed and watch movies at night. The food was out of this world and cannot fault any meal that was served to us. We were treated like royalty and will highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone. Thank you for a lovely stay with...

Great location between Calitzdorp and Oudtshoorn, out in the country side with stunning views. Very personal, the owners went out of their way to accommodate us. Fantastic home cooked dinner and lovely breakfast! Unwind at the pool in the late afternoon with amazing views of the Redstone Hills.
