Great accommodation - cool traditional thatched cottages in a really hot town! - and the most excellent views. Great food, and excellent service too. The purpose of the trip was to take photographs in the nearby & spectacular Swartberg Pass, and Red Stone Hills was a perfect base.

Room was lovely, fireplace was the perfect touch to our honeymoon that we needed. We really enjoyed the hospitality of the people also!!! Wish we had more time there to explore more of the farm. Definitely going back again

It's fabulous to stay in a place that has so much history. The history comes through in the character of the cottages. 130 years ago they must have lived a hard life. Now we have the convenience of electricity, plumbing and wifi! Petro and Hermanus are great hosts. We went on an early morning hike which was supposed to take...

We are a party of ten who set out into the countryside each year. Four from England, two from Wales, two from Denmark and two from George. This year's two night stop at Red Stone Hills was as good as Anywhere we've been. Our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating . We had booked Bushmans, Birds nest and...

This is the place to go when you really want to rest. Petro gave us a warm welcome and interesting insights on the farm´s history. We stayed at the Aloe cottage and had a most wonderful time. I got up early to catch the marvellous moment of the first shafts of sunlight on the magnificent red rocks behind the cottage....

Just back from a wonderful, relaxing 5-day break at Red Stone Hills. What a treat!!! Petro and Hermanus were the most wonderful hosts and we were made to feel extremely welcome. The setting was scenically quite magnificent and our cottage was very comfortable and more than adequately equipped even down to lovely bath products. We particularly enjoyed the braai we...

I was on the last leg of my holiday in South Africa, flying from Johannesburg to George. I chose Kulula Airlines as I always enjoyed the Banter from the crew. In the past you would get an announcement (The toilets are fitted with CTTV and is used as part of the In Flight enterainment ) and other comments . There was...

We've been there many times. The cottages are old, but newest standard. The surrounding is stunning. The best is always the braii, which is perfectly prepared and delivered. We can recommend it very much.

In summer the guests enjoy the spectacular views from their cottages while having a barbecue [braai]. We maintained the original character of the cottages, circa 1880!

This stay was a private recommendation and I´ve never heard about Red Stone Hills before. We found all what was suggested. A perfect Cottage, silence, a clear and awesome sky full of stars and the best braai meal I´ve ever got. I´ve booked the Enon cottage, but stayed in the Bushman. "It´s a much better view", Petro said. Thank you...
