Lovely setting in the trees with the suite very nicely appointed. Staff was very attentive to our needs and requests. Meals were exceptional, including an amazing "picnic". The bar/lounge is very pleasant, but the bartender does need to work on the cocktail preparations. (For now, stick with the awesome S. African wines.) We thoroughly enjoyed taking a canoe up the...

By South African standards this is an expensive place to stay, there are lot of good things about it but I did have a few issues. First the good points, the rooms were on the whole lovely, a decent bed with great pillows made for a good nights sleep. Essentially your room is a little house on stilts in a...

we enjoyed every moment of our stay. Pampered and spoiled, with lovely food and great service. Our rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The outdoor jacuzzi in the trees with a glass of wine was a nice touch. We enjoyed a pic nic on our last night up in the Moroccan pavillion which had wonderful views of the valley.

We arrivedcsnd were very well taken care of!! Everyone so polite and friendly. The food...AMAZING!! Do not go out for dinner book yourselves in for dinner at the lodge. Cannot fault it! My only comment would be, shame they don't do cocktails. The room was fabulous, such a treat! Loved it! We will be back. Good location to tour Knysna...

The Phantom Forest was a wonderful relaxing break. If you want isolation, it's the place to go. We enjoyed the food, however after 3 nights we needed to get back to civilisation! I would recommend the place for a 2 night stop over while travelling the garden route if you have time to kill.

Too close to the N2 and its noise to count as a real retreat. Great view of the N2 and the Knsyna estuary from the forested (and very beautiful hillside). Our Moroccan suite Porcupine had some mildew and could have used a thorough cleaning, especially the large glass windows. Our second night was miserably hot with the small screened windows...

We splashed out on 2 luxury suites, and boy, was the 5 minute, sometimes quite steep, uphill climb from reception worth it.. My suite, Westonia, was gorgeously decorated, very firm and comfortable bed, draped in mosquito nets (you need that here) and a bathroom to die for... glass panelled double shower looking onto the forest, enromous bath, and gorgeously lit...

A truly beautiful spot in nature. Wonderful safe environment for long forest walks with the greatest variety of fungi and ferns, could have sworn I saw a few fairies. We had an exceptional dinner that is highly recommended. I will definitely return.

My husband and I had a fantastic night away to celebrate our 10 year anniversary whilst in Knysna. It was so peaceful and relaxing and amazing attention to detail. We ate in the Bomo where the standard of food was incredible, as were the wines! Rooms were very private with amazing views of the lagoon, and the staff were friendly...
