Stayed for 3 nights. Falcons view is set above Knysna, the views are amazing. The room I stayed in was very comfortable with all the things you'd expect. The food here was lovely and reasonably priced. Breakfast of cold meats cheese fruit selection and cooked selection. Gardens are well kept with a realy nice pool area. Finally the staff, they were all very good from the bell boy to the manager. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay again if in the area.

Historic house with unparalleled views over the lagoon
This was the best hotel we stayed at on the garden route. We cannot fault it. Our travel agent recommended Falcons View when another hotel we had wanted to stay at was full. That was a stroke of luck for us! Falcons View is a historic house – built by Thysen, after whom Thysen island is named with a spectacular view from the verandah over the whole of Knysna. It is about 10-15 minutes stroll to the waterfront. The view of the lagoon stretches all the way to the heads. Falcons View is stylish yet comfortable. The service was 5 stars plus, supervised by managers Sue and Danela. Our bedroom was beautiful with a huge bathroom with freestanding Victorian style bath and separate walk in modern shower. The gardens are lovely and well looked after with amazing flowers and water feature with a tranquil pool area, though watch out for some cheeky monkeys coming for a drink in the pool water. The Knysna lori made an appearance on our arrival and there lots of new pheasant chicks. The breakfast patio area was charming and the breakfast was excellent though we didn’t eat dinner at the manor preferring to go out in town after drinks on the verandah watching the sunset. Lovely stay at Falcons View Manor
The hotel is situated on top of Kysna with a great view on the city where you can enjoy the sunset in the evening. Service is brilliant and facilities are clean. Hotel also offers good dinner & breakfast served on terrace with beautiful garden in background. Can only recommend the hotel.

Perfect location, great staff and food!
We spent a night at Falcons Manor and it was simple perfect from the moment we were greeted. The staff couldn’t do anymore for you and it’s clear they have passion for their job. The grounds are well managed and landscaped beautifully. Our room had the most spectacular views of Knysna and the food both at breakfast and lunch was flawless. This was the first place on the garden route we visited where we could truly relax and we certainly made good use of the facilities to make this happen. Friendly staff and nice hotel
Well renovated Manor House with a mix of old and new decor. We had a very warm welcome and had a good tour around. The room was a good size and we both had good sleeps each of the nights we stayed. Good verity of menu options for breakfast. As we did not know much about the area we asked the manager and she gave us a verity of options. About 15 mins walk to the Main Street and several restaurants if you choose to east elsewhere. Would certainly recommend to others to stay here.

Is it safe/easy to walk from hotel to Knysna centre ? Are the pathways/sidewalks lit at night ?
We do not recommend to walk to or from town after dark - the hill is steep and a taxi is safer.

what is the superior room with terrace like
Our room was separate from main house with a balcony over looking the garden, it was beautifully furnished with a good size bathroom. The view of the garden was lovely. Great place to stay .

Are you close to the beach or are there any rooms that extend to the beach?
Dear Immokay, Falcons View Manor overlooks Knysna, the lagoon and you see the Knysna Heads and the ocean in the distance. There is a phantastic beach at Brenton on Sea (17 minutes by car, 16 km). We go there nearly every day for a lovely beach walk when in Knysna. Kind regards Reimer Holst
