The rooms in the Log-Inn are peasant, comfortable and well maintained and a comfortable size. The common area are done in wonderful South African wood and are comfortable to hang around in. Don't miss the interesting stained glass in the lobby. The buffet breakfast is hearty and provides many options, all well prepared. The staff is pleasant and helpful. All... More

Dear Michael F Thank you for your review of the Knysna Log-inn hotel. The hotel being built entirely of wood certainly is special and made even more so by the stained glass windows in the lobby. Someone said "an army marches on its stomach", but wee feel "a guest tours on his/her stomach" . There is so much to see... More

We spent 1 night at Log-on inn and it was absolutely wonderful. It was our second favourite hotel in the 2 weeks we spent in South Africa. It didn't have quite so much space in the room as many we stayed in, though there was still plenty enough but the ambience in the room was perfect. The cold breakfast spread... More

Dear JimC Thank you for your very kind review of the Knysna Log-Inn hotel. I see you mention the stained glass windows. They really are impressive, about 3m high, but because the foyer is also so impressive, one does not really realise the size of the windows. Being on one of the the ferries or the paddle cruiser and watching... More

I actually wanted to stay at the Protea on the waterfront but it was booked out so my travel agent booked this one!! I looked at the pictures and the write-up and thought I'll give it a try. A 4 Star property within walking distance to the waterfront , this hotel is just about OK. Rooms (we were booked in a triple room) are small, views nothing much to talk about. Breakfast was passable and the same on all days. , no live counters for hot food. All in all, just about OK.
