This hotel is a mid class hotel with rating of 3.5 star. Food , 2.5/5 for indian visitor. Place :4/5 Neatness :3.5/5 Hotel is made up of wood completely. Nearby indian restaurant, around 5oo meters. Ask for the rooms at 1st floor as there is no life, Lift is only for shifting the luggage. Good place for family.

We found Knysna rather down at heel, and this hotel sat comfortably within that definition. Whilst only a walk away from the waterfront with its restaurants and souvenir shops, it is located in an area we'd rather not have been in. I wouldn't like to turn left after dark... An average three star hotel (at best) with dingy rooms off...

We enjoyed our stay here in this unusual building. Our room was more than adequate. View was over carpark but we were so busy seeing round the Knysna area this wasn't a problem. Breakfast was good. Staff helpful and friendly. Seating gallery above reception area was quiet and comfortable. Very quiet hotel. Close to waterfront area which was good for...

Unfortunately we arrived at little late in the day and approached the hotel from the wrong end of the town. Yes, at night time there is a right and wrong end of town to be. We were also given a rroom fronting the main road to the waterfront which can be quite noisy with traffic from 6am onwards. We spoke...

I visited this hotel as part of a tour and found it pleasant if a little dated. The bathroom in particular needed updating and I was sorry not to find a fridge in my room. However, the woodwork in reception and on the stairs was most attractive. I also found that there was plenty of choice for breakfast but would...

We were a little disappointed with this hotel, certainly in comparison with the others we stayed in along the Garden Route. It has a strange appearance and does not fit in well with the surrounding area. Winding corridors are unusual, did not really bother us but would be an issue for disabled travellers. Breakfast was basic and the bacon/sausages tasted...

The most helpful and friendly receptionist and manager in South Africa! A pleasure to deal with. The quirky corridor referred to by another reviewer was to maximise space for the ensuite bathrooms. Magnificent building and a very comfortable stay.

Odd to find a log hotel in Knysna. The strangest zig-zag hallway I have ever seen in a hotel. Where was the fire marshal? The rooms were clean, but old fashioned and the hotel is on a busy street. The bar closes during the afternoon and early at night. Plenty of tour buses call here. You can do better in...

This is a well located hotel, close to the waterfront and the island. Rooms are comfortable, service quite fine good buffet breakfast. Log cabin look is unusual, but not horrible. No real views: I looked over the car park. Location is a big drawcard for a short stay as you can walk to lots of restaurants and to the water.

While traveling with the New Horizons Travel Club throughout South Africa, we stayed at the beautiful Knysna Log-Inn. True to its name, the hotel does look like a high end log cabin with wonderful carved wood staircases and lobby. The front rooms had great street views but were louder than the rooms on the back side that overlooked the pool...
