My first time in South Africa and this hotel was the prefect place to stay . Small and pretty with lovely big rooms and very comfortable beds . I slept like a log ! About a 2 mile walk in to the waterfront but along the beach so very pleasant , but Ubers are so cheap if you don’t fancy the walk The breakfast here was delicious and staff so friendly and helpful , i wouldn’t hesitate to come back
Lovely boutique hotel. About 2 mile walk from CT waterfront. The sea is 5 mins walk away and you can follow the promenade into town. The hotel is on a residential street with good security. The rooms were all unique and very comfortable. Service was great and friendly particularly our welcome briefing. There is a small pool and sun beds. We loved this hotel and couldn’t fault the rooms or service. Why 4 stars. Well they have a small cabinet with gifts. Most don’t have prices on so I picked up a few notebooks and craft bracelets. When I came to pay for those they were around £40 which was really expensive compared to prices in the waterfront and local markets. The mark up seemed high to me and for that reason I rated this hotel a 4. But great hotel!
We arrived in Capetown and our booked hotel was very dissapointing. The next morning we started looking online en found the Blackheath lodge only 600 m further from our hotel. We drove over and asked the reception manager if they had any last minute availability. Yes they had and they were so kind to show our the room: a loft style 2 bedroom appartement, soooo beautiful and clean and nicely decorated. They felt our anxiety about the other hotel so they let us check in already before noon ! Immediately they let us feel welcome and for the next 3 days they treated us + our kids like kings and queens. An amazing feeling after being so disappointed about our other hotel. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a hidden gem in a vibrant and amazing city. Special thanx to Riano and Karine for your kindest efforts and hospitality… Greetings from Peter, Tifanny, Victorine and Manon…
My husband and I had the most wonderful stay at the Blackheath Lodge this week! Being a small, boutique hotel, the service was very personal and we truly felt like we were going “home” every night. Karin, Riano and Godfrey were all so accommodating and provided top notch service. The breakfast and coffee were delicious every morning and our room was very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!
Blackheath Lodge is exceptional. From start to finish we were treated like royalty. We arrived a bit earlier than we thought we would and Karin was only too happy to accommodate us and let us pop our bags in the room a bit earlier. We stopped for a quick (but delicious) coffee and set off for the day. When we got back Karin was really friendly and talked us through the hotel and breakfast etc. we popped out for some dinner and when we arrived back quite late there was someone on the desk who was perfectly pleasant. The next morning we snuck out for a run and Karin caught us to to make sure we’d be having breakfast and said it was okay if we were a bit late (we thought we’d miss breakfast) I’m so pleased we popped back because the breakfast was brilliant. After another late night and feeling a bit peckish we were thrilled to see the chocolate cake I had been eyeing up was still on offer!! I could have eaten the whole thing!!! All in all the team at Blackheath Lodge couldn’t have done anything more to make our stay more special. The only thing I’d change is there was no full length mirror in the room- maybe something for the team to consider but definitely not worth a minus rating.…
