An African Villa is a gem. The rooms are beautiful, well maintained. The service provided by all of the staff is great. Loved the breakfasts. Especially loved the sherry and port made available every evening. Made even more special when there was cake or sweets at the end of the day.

We spent 4 nights at an African Villa and it was the perfect start to our vacation in South Africa. The location is excellent,on a quiet residential neighborhood yet within walking distance to Kloof Street with its great restaurants and shops. I love the very attractive decor of the place with a very pleasant sitting room where one can enjoy...

I booked this place based solely on the high ratings on TripAdvisor. I was not disappointed at all. In fact this place exceeded all my expectations. The best part is the staff and feeling of being safe. My room was very clean. The vibe at the place was quite, casual, and very relaxed. Breakfast was great. The ladies who prepared...

Having looked at trip advisor in Australia had no hesitation in booking 4 nights prior and 9 nights post a Garden wine tour. HOSTS Cindy and Keith take great pride in owning and the day to day running of this beautiful boutique establishment. Each day they booked restaurants for us I loved walking down to the office to have a...

This place is the greatest. The room is spacious and clean and even had a partial view of table mountain The breakfast is great (cold buffet plus hot entrees). The staff is beyond compare and the location is within walking distance of many attractions and great restaurants. The only negatives are the steps needed to get to the room. If...

Picture yourself sitting in the sun, in a quiet courtyard, in the late afternoon, with a cup of tea and a piece of cake, or relaxing in a nicely decorated lounge in the early evening with a glass of sherry or port. Those are one or two memories I will take away with me from staying at An African Villa,...

I began a 3 week South Africa trip with a short stay in Cape Town. This smart and friendly Guest House provided an excellent start to this trip. The bedroom was large, well furnished and spotlessly clean. The public rooms were comfortable and inviting and the terrace offered a perfect venue for their excellent breakfasts. Perhaps most importantly, each member...

Perfect hotel in every aspect. It's quiet, safe, clean, comfortable. Large room, king bed. Friendly, helpful staff, extremely organized! Gorgeous continental breakfast. The girls will make you toasts and eggs if you like. Made me feel like "this is my home in Cape Town". Within walking distance to fancy restaurants, bars,an icecream parlour, a mini mall with a cafe, a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This Villa is much more than that! It is in fact three houses which are part of a Victorian terrace dating from 1892. The double story houses have been joined together and so the inside spaces are much larger than the facade suggests. It's like walking into a TARDIS someone has written on Tripadvisor! There are 12 rooms and the hotel is owner managed.Location is vital when choosing a spot for you vacation and this more than a Villa is within an easy walk of all tourist attractions in the city area. The others (like the fabulous beaches) are a short taxi ride away. There is a small plunge pool in a peaceful courtyard where a very full breakfast is served in summer. (In winter there's a sociable dining room and an eco-friendly fire blazing). Your hosts are very careful to offer you as much information as you want and they will arrange car rental, restaurant reservations, tours etc. As required.Free internet on 2 computers in a library area and wireless access is available in all rooms. At night the night porter will set out complimentary sherry and port and at other times there is an honesty bar and guest fridge in the kitchen. Parking is on street and there is no charge (street guards patrol) but you should not need a car from this well placed hotel. ... more   less
