I have stayed at the Westin before the pandemic and I was impressed. I then made a mistake of visiting during COVID I regretted it. At buffet breakfast food was like it was cooked for non paying patrons. The staff had no control of the roudy guest..just terrible.
My partner and I spent a night at The Westin Presidential Suite this past weekend in Cape Town. While travel is tricky during this time in the Pandemic, staycations are the next best thing and we were in desperate need of a spoil! Two major highlights: the excellent service and the food! I was so impressed by the chef's creativity and ability to create amazing vegan, gluten-free dishes for me (my partner eats everything haha). We also booked massages and I encourage anyone who lives in cape town to visit the hotel just for the spa! it's beautiful! And the treatments are incredible. The Presidential Suite itself is a huge spoil - the panoramic views of the city and harbour are breathtaking and I rate it has the best hotel bath in cape town!
The food is first class but the boss shouted at a lovely waiter in front of us which was totally out of order for nothing much I found it uncomfortable and felt sorry for the waiter to be shouted at in front of customers I would have given 4 stars if this did not happen
The Westin Cape Town was everything my family and I expected. They went the extra mile to ensure that we always felt safe in terms of their strict COVID protocols . The junior suite had a lovely decor and was spacious. The breakfast was good, considering the COVID protocols that needed to be followed. What made our stay extremely pleasant was the hospitality shown by the guest liaison manager, Jason. He treated us like royalty from the time we checked -in until our check out. He went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
We stayed here and were really impressed. The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful. Its a BIG busy hotel compared to the Marriott and Protea we normally stay in. The indoor pool and spa is nice. Great views from the Sauna. We got a really nice room upgrade and gift in the room as Titanium members. The outdoor pool is not so good. Very small space with not many chairs which is a shame as its the only outdoor hotel space. The Club lounge was good as was breakfast in the main restaurant. I would definitely recommend staying here and we will be back.
