I have stayed here a few times. There really isn’t much I can fault them on.

Great location with exceptional views overlooking the coastline.
Upscaled and refurbished rooms. Very comfortable beds.
Large bathroom with shower and toilet (each separately enclosed)
Highly COVID prepared. Sanitisers everywhere around the hotel – temperature checks entering and leaving the hotel.
Service was impeccable and turnaround times on requests were very short.
Then new ‘chat online’ feature is exceptionally helpful and a welcome addition.
Beautiful and amazing fitness centre with lap pool, sauna overlooking the coastline & port and well fitted out gym.
Underground parking
Outdoor swimming pool was lovely - enough loungers, water and towels.
Breakfast: Due to Covid, they serve continental breakfast with variety of breakfast choices from the menu.
The 19th Floor Restaurant was closed so Club members provided alternative venue.
The SPA toilets (men) were clean, no toilet smells and had all the necessary toiletries available. The security locks are easy to use and spacious.

Cons
The hotel charges for overnight parking – should be complimentary IMO.
What happened to the Loccitane toiletries?
No business stationery or envelopes in room - but concierge did provide after calling.

The SPA staff should remind clients to keep their voices and noise levels down in this tranquil area as we found it was always quite noisy - esp. outside the sauna and around the lane pool and jacuzzi.

Africa Travel Centre in Boulder Colorado booked our room at the Westin Cape Town, SA. Fabulous luxury! Everyone from the bellmen, front desk, concierge, restaurant & bar staff, cleaning service were professional, courteous & friendly. We were treated like royalty by absolutely everyone.

The restaurant/bar selections at this property made it difficult to venture out & try other options.

The indoor infinity pool is remarkable, with a view provided by an entire floor to ceiling wall of glass!

The spa is sublime!

We will be back!

First off, Ashlyn at the executive lounge is a national treasure. She went above and beyond to help me and is an absolute delight.

The executive lounge is great - not too crowded or noisy and really good food.

No ambassador status room upgrade except to a larger room. There were two company events at the time so the hotel was kind of unpleasant with people running around and even though I asked for a quiet room, I was woken multiple times in the night by revelers talking loudly in the hallway on their way back to their rooms. They did however send up a birthday amenity which I thought was a lovely gesture and the room had a wonderful huge bathroom.

The spa was also lovely to arrange a birthday amenity but the massage was sub par. Clearly someone who had been trained in massage technically but was not skilled at it. I therefore left feeling a bit ripped off despite the lovely service. The view of the ocean from the infinity pool at the spa was amazing.

The hair salon was very expensive but they were very good about taking me in at the last minute and the stylist was very thorough with giving each curl a good amount of hairspray to stay in place and it survived admirably for around 36 hours of travel.

As feedback to the team, even if you have corporates throwing large amounts of money at you for events, think about the individuals who get caught up in the madness. It would have been nice to be told in advance that there would be hordes of people everywhere to give people a choice to book elsewhere that wasn't chaotic. I had been hoping to relax and the seven people deep check in lines and hubbub was not what I was envisioning for this birthday treat. I was even more annoyed to have broken sleep before embarking on a 36 hour journey home after specifically asking for a quiet room. No suite upgrade for my status? Fine. But I don't stay loyal to Marriott only to have a reasonable request disregarded.

Hotel is located in a very nice place, near second biggest shopping mall in Capetown, neat and clean room with best outside view, room service always on time in cleaning.

However the hotel is so money oriented, everything works on credit deposit at the reception, no flexibility to customers who doesn't have credit cards (Debit card holders).

Fridge in the room (with two coca-cola) was locked and when i asked for the key i was told by the manager that they can not open the fridge until when i make deposit for the extras at the reception.

The manager was willing (and she did it) to clear the two coca-cola in the fridge so that they can handle empty fridge to me after emphasizing the request for the fridge keys.

This didn't make sense to me as i paid almost $ 2,500 for 4 nights upfront on the day of arrival but couldn't allowed to drink coke (which cost less than a a singe $) on the fridge until when i pay for it at the reception at the mid of the night.

I requested for the airport pickup on my arrival and they charged me as two way separate routes reason the car was coming from the hotel to the airport ZAR 850 and from air port back to the hotel another ZAR 850, in-total i have paid ZAR 1,700 for a 15 Minutes trip.

What a great hotel in Cape Town! This is probably one of my favorite Westins in the World. The rooms are comfortable and the staff so friendly and accommodating. With Bonvoy status, we were upgraded to a beautiful Jr Suite with views of the VA Waterfront. The beds were extremely comfortable as at most Westins.

The Club Lounge is fantastic with panoramic views, lots of comfortable seating, a large breakfast offering with made to order eggs and the best staff around. Ashlyn and Vuyo made sure we were well taken care of each morning. In the evening, happy hour and appetizers were served 530-730 and Thomas also made sure we were comfortable. The staff here are top notch and the local house wine was delicious.

The gym was well equipped, the spa facilities excellent and the massage from Michaela so relaxing. I recommend the 90 minute massage with the Shea butter.

The hotel is on the canal and within walking distance to the VA. Uber is readily available and cost effective so you can get anywhere easily.

I highly recommend this hotel especially for guests with top tier status. Mr Robin Scott, Asst Mgr, personally thanked us for our stay upon checkout. Its these small touches that make for the most memorable experiences. Thank you Westin for a wonderful time in The Cape! Hope to see you again soon.

The Westin Cape Town is a 5-Star Hotel that falls short of its 5 star rating. The hotel facilities are very good; the rooms are large and very comfortable, with comfortable bedding and premium amenities. They have an excellent spa, with a heated lap pool and Jacuzzi, and fully equipped gym, which is a bit small and tight for comfort, and lacks some of the most modern aerobic machines. It also has an outdoor pool, that is really a large tub, but at the right time of day, you can sun bathe in the small area. During my stay only one restaurant was open, the main restaurant in the ground floor, which had a nice breakfast buffet, but the rest of their menu, including their room service menu was fairly limited and mediocre. None of their foods, and I had room service several times, were impressive. It also has an Executive Lounge that serves breakfast, and has a happy hour. Their happy hour, which they call the Canape Hour, is from 4 – 6 p.m. which is a very inconvenient time. I was here on business, so most of the time I was busy until 5 p.m. so by the time you return to the hotel you barely have time for a drink. Most Marriott Brand hotels have their happy hour from 5 – 7 p.m. and some even later, as the Executive Lounge is supposed to cater to business people. The appetizers that are served during the happy hour only change every four days. So after staying here one week, I got to see only one change in their happy hour menu. Finally service… a five star hotel is supposed to provide flawless service, and this is where this hotel fails to meet their five stars rating the most. Whether in the lounge, in the restaurant, or the front desk, their service is mediocre, and the staff just doesn’t make you feel welcome. They generally lack empathy for the guests. In fact, they make you feel that is all about the money they can make and not about providing flawless service to the customer. The worst was their housekeeping. For the first three days the housekeeping staff would just walk into my room, without knocking or asking if they could clean the room. I finally complained to the front desk staff, spoke to the assistant front desk manager, Andre, and his response was that I should put my do not disturb sign and then service the room sign. So instead of the responsibility being put on a well trained staff, the emphasis was placed on the customer to ensure his privacy is not being violated by the staff. Truly five star service right? Over all this hotel is a nice hotel. But after one week here, the service made me want to leave them in a hurry and never return.

Although the hotel accommodation is really good, especially the bed (it will take you in dreamland snooze 😴 very quickly), I was very disappointed with the club lounge experience. It was nothing compared to what was experienced in Singapore, Bangkok, Amsterdam, etc.

The quality of the food and range of drinks was not good. There was high tea, which was only actually 2 tea pots and you had to make your own tea, no cucumber sandwiches, scones and cakes.

My suggestion is that the additional money you would pay for the club lounge access, use it to have a meal in the various restaurants around the hotel.

I must however say that the views from the hotel is stunning and the location is very convenient. Cape Town is stunningly beautiful.

It's almost 2pm on a Sunday afternoon after a sight seeing drive returned to my room with great disappointed hoping to relax on the afternoon. The room has still not been cleaned. We asked the cleaning supervisor as to why the room was cleaned told we had a do not disturb sign outside the door. After letting her we had no sign she mentions room 1029 she mistook our room 1031 for 1029. Asked to speak to the duty manager he was too busy to take my call and I was directed to the the front desk supervisor her story was different as to whythe room was not cleaned.

Secondly the room is closed to the motorway and the noise is unbearable.

Thirdly the TV selection channels are rather poor not befitting a 5 star hotel.

I am rather disappointed at the service while the hotel is good service is shocking

As our car arrived we were welcomed by the bell boy. Check in was quick with courteous staff. The rooms are high quality, spacious, king side beds, senate bathroom with bath, shower room and enclosed toilet. Everything was high quality for a good sleep in a quiet environment with great air conditioning. Maid service was very good, towels changed daily and room turned down for the evening. Bottled water supplied daily. The trip includes breakfast and you name it they have it. Staff at breakfast super friendly and Will willingly help with any request. They have a free shuttle bus to the V & A leaving on the hour and returning 15 past the hour. Last shuttle is 23 15 and Ashley the driver is also good at his job. So a very enjoyable stay.

We made a last minute dinner reservation for 14 guests on Saturday evening.
Our table was set-up and ready for our arrival and we were welcomed by the very friendly Collie (forgive me if I've misinterpreted her name). She was very attentive and most certainly not overbearing throughout our dinner. Because of us being a large table; Chef Chesray welcomed us and suggested some amazing options for the table. Minutes later the most tantalizing starters arrived and we were in awe at what was presented. Our main meal arrived timeously and was equally brilliant. Followed by Dessert for those who had space left. All in all it was a wonderful experience. Thank you Chef Chesray, Collie and Duty Manager Luqmaan who also checked in on us.
