Once again, after giving Phil plenty of notice to escape to Botswana or Namibia, we darkened the doorstep of Parker Cottage, and of course Phil, Tomas, and all the staff welcomed us home as part of the ever growing Parker Cottage family. This visit was part of our month long trip to SA to celebrate my birthday, and a wee...

My husband and I stayed 4 nights last December and had a wonderful time Phil and his team run this establishment in very high standards, with exquisite care of every detail and utmost professionalism. This is a true gem! Phil also helped us a lot with many of our travel arrangements and made our vacation much more enjoyable and well...

Thanks so much for the review! It does often surprise first time visitors to Cape Town just how busy and booked up things get: so last year, Liz and I decided to offer a travel planning service alongside the guesthouse just to make things that little bit easier for our guests. We're so glad you enjoyed: we'll see you soon...

Very personal contact with the owner Phil and very service minded approach from the whole crew. For an additional fee Phil will help you to plan the details of your trip. This was very helpful for us.

Parker House is well located in Cape Town, will serve a very nice breakfast and staff are very helpful for things to do in CT. Our room was quite small, an earlier booking may have resulted in a better room selection. Breakfast was served out on the patio with the other guests. Very nice place. Vic and Barb, Okotoks, Alberta,...

We offer a big range of rooms at Parker Cottage, everything from the 'sleep, shower and go' type room right up to the '3m high ceiling, working fireplace, separate bath and shower' type room. Parker Cottage is a very comfortable guest house in a nice area of Tamborskloof a easy walk to the centre of Cape Town. Phil and Tomas are really great hosts very helpful, the room garden breakfast all excellent, while you are there i strongly recommend eating at the Millers Thump restaurant 5 minutes walk away.

So pleased you enjoyed, Davy! Yes, Miller's Thumb is arguably the best fish restaurant in town: we even got to the stage last year of booking a permanent table there for our guests! Thanks for the compliments about us as hosts. We're delighted you enjoyed your stay.

We stayed here for a few days recently and all in all the experience was fabulous. The house itself is beautiful and retains lots of period features and the breakfasts are wonderful. The only criticism I could say were that the floors in the bathroom of room 6 are a bit hazardous due to a fee holes in the wood...

Thanks so much for the review! Yes, always a challenge with an old house to decide to rip out the original feature (the old wooden floors in the bathroom) and replace them (which is always a pity) or try to patch them up (which always looks ugly). In the case of your bathroom, we've opted for the patch up but...

we stayed at Parker Cottage, a top Bed and Breakfast in Capetown's Tambourskloof community, for the second time. The service, welcome, food, and everything else were about as good as possible, and definitely among the very best we have experienced in our our many years of travels around the world. they excel in specialized service such as bookings for top...

Thank you so much Jerry. As you're amongst some of the most well-traveled guests we have ever had, this is praise indeed! We do seem to keep winning awards (thanks for noticing): at one stage it was one a week. It will be great to see you and the family again soon. Many thanks for choosing us again!

We had a great time at Parker Cottage, where we were welcomed warmly, enjoyed our magnificent room and the sumptuous breakfast in the garden. The staff is relaxed and accommodating. All you need is ask! Great location -- will definitely come back.

We stayed at Parker Cottage for a few days in early November. The house is beautiful, the breakfasts were great, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. But perhaps the best part was the location - it's a short walk to tons of great restaurants and bars and a moderate walk to most parts of the city. We also had...

Thank you so much for such a complimentary review, Emma! I have to say I agree with you about the location: it's now got to the point when 6 days out of 7 my car just stands on the street. We just walk, cycle and Uber everywhere. So much nicer!

Our favorite part of staying at this well-located and historic inn was all the nice touches - the staff taking the time to learn our names and remembering our breakfast orders, good sense of humor, great recommendations, and a little gift for breakfast on Christmas morning. The room is nice and comfy with a good shower - nothing over the...

Oh yes, those yogurt parfaits are rather good, aren't they? That's Tomas, our manager's, invention. Really rather wonderful. The omlette is my (Phil's) invention but Tandeka our chef and senior housekeeper has taken that to a whole new level. Apologies for our sense of humour: it's not really matured since primary school but what's wrong with that? Glad you liked...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Parker Cottage! We’re a little different than the usual hotel or guesthouse experience. Rather than being just a conventional ‘place to sleep’, we offer a very much unplugged, urban retreat right in the creative heart of Cape Town. So although we offer free and fast internet, we don't do minibars, piped music or even reception desks. Think of us like a country house in the middle of the city. We’re the kind of place where you can rediscover the art of conversation, endless breakfasts and total serenity. Parker is a social place too: our legendary free wine evenings occur at least twice a week and there’s no ‘cut off’ time for our gourmet breakfasts either. ... more   less
