Great stay, and the tennis coach Barkie was amazing. I had two 90 minute sessions with him and he pointed out key changes within minutes, and I made great progress thanks to him. I highly recommend him.

Slightly faded glory in beautifully maintained and spacious grounds, remarkable for its location in walking distance to the Company Gardens, the museums along Government Avenue, the fort, Bo-Kaap, etc. We had an elegant room and an equally elegant dinner. The staff was welcoming and helpful. It's a bit of an Uber ride to Table Top but easy and pleasant, and a bit more to the waterfront due to traffic through the commercial city, but not too bad. For better and worse, you feel like a colonial governor while you're there. You can't escape reality entirely though -- the gate security, with a guardhouse, intercom and vehicular barriers at both entrances, is polite but serious. It almost feels like you're entering CIA Langley!

A treat to stay. Very helpful and attentive staff. Unfortunately aircon was broken in our room so a little bit of a stuffy stay. Delicious food at planet bar and a great breakfast selection. Stunning pool setting.

Even though we live in Cape Town, my husband and I love spending some time away at the Nellie to decompress from life. Our last visit was over a few days and even during COVID times, the quality of service remains. An iconic destination and experience of old world glamour and grace.
