The remodeling is continuing. The place is looking better. Customer service was great. And you can't beat the location. The F-Line for direct trips to the Wharf, Union Square and a huge portion of Market St is right in front of the hotel. Grocery...

When you imagine how a 5 stars hostel would be you imagine the BIG. The staff always doing much more than expected. And the mixture of people you can meet in there will complete the whole experience. Class!

In my opinion, platforms like AirBnb have taken off recently as they allow people to stay in a "home away from home". With The B.I.G. Backpackers however, there's no need to look anywhere else, because everything about this hostel is nothing short of exceptional. From the quality of the rooms, to the elaborate breakfast on offer each morning to the...

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights in February and loved it. We stayed in the Sailor room which going by the pictures of the doubles on the website, possibly wasn't the best but it was fine, comfortable bed and lovely bathroom (not much room to open 2 suitcases on the floor though). The pool area was nice...

The location makes Signal Hill, the waterfront and Greenmarket Square very accessible. The staff are super helpful, with lots of advice to make your visit to Cape Town the best it can be. Additionally, the breakfast is more than adequate.

Positive: Very modern, well decorated hostel. The dorms are really good as dorms go. Spacious, comfortable, great en-suite facilities, and only four to a room (or ours was). The double room we stayed in was also really well decorated and comfortable. Easily as good as a half decent hotel (although it costs about that too!) Free South African SIM cards...

Cape Town hostels usually have a high standard of care. BIG was so different in that the common room is set up so that it is easy to chat and get to know fellow travelers. The staff really do care and go out of their way to sweeten your stay in Cape Town
