Returning frequently to Cape Town to visit my son who lives there I find that there is no nicer place to stay than at the Underberg Guest House in Tamboerskloof. The beauty of the house, cleanliness and pleasant service from the owners Ann and Bruce and their staff remains constant, providing for a very pleasant stay.

The rooms are extremely nice as are the communal areas. Breakfast is delicious. The owners (Anne and Bruce) are wonderful hosts who make you feel "at home" and...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners and staff are attentive, but not intrusive, friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Wonderful to have a comfy bed when away from home and quiet room too. Superb location, close to Kloof St for eating out, so no need to take a car. Well situated for sightseeing. All round great place...

Beautiful house. Very well renovated, contemporary design. Very comfortable and clean room. Excellent breakfast. Big availability of the host, Anne, for assistance on restaurants, visits, travels and reservations. Situated in a quiet district but near all the services and only 20 minutes walking distance to the city center. Beautiful inviting common spaces on the first floor, lounge, bar, dinning room.

Everything about Underberg is excellent: welcoming hosts, location, fabulous breakfast, immaculate rooms, beautiful building. Bruce and Ann made our stay memorable; they couldn't have been more helpful. Everything we wanted to do was organised for us, taxis appeared when needed. A really great experience.
