Great Hotel, In the city. Great staff. Well appointed rooms. My room had a great view of both Table Mountain and the city. Ask for a room on the 6th floor or higher. There is a Starbucks in house for great coffee. Secure underground parking is available but expensive for a few hours of overnight parking.
Had a business trip turned into a family trip. Great hotel in an ideal location. Friendly and helpful staff. Could do with a combination of pillow softness. Pillows were too soft for our liking. Generator backup for lobby area but not for rooms (yet)
We recently enjoyed a week long stay at the Hyatt Regency while holidaying in Cape Town. The hotel accommodated our request to have 2 adjoining rooms by upgrading one of the rooms. Both rooms were spotlessly cleaned each day and were spacious, with very comfortable beds. The location of the hotel was great, bordering the CBD and Bo Kaap area, with lots of eating options close by. The Waterfront and Table Mountain were only a short uber ride awy. While all items on the room service menu were not always available, the breakfast in the restaurant was very good, with many choices on offer. But the standout for us was the friendly staff - from the reception staff, shuttle drivers, waitstaff, Concierge, tour guides, cleaners - everyone was very helpful and always had time for a smile and a friendly chat. Thank you for a great stay …
Cant wait to come back ,i loved my stay food was delicious staff was super helpful I will definitely come back with the family or with some friends in the near future just a pity they were not serving alcohol
Had a room with amazing views of table mountain as well as all the coloured houses in the bo cap, walking distance from the waterfront (also offer free shuttle) Staff were so attentive and friendly. Always happy to assist. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Cape Town.
Thank you to Roslin for making check in so excellent with your kind smile. They helped erase the bad experience I had with reservations. The room attendant during our stay was just excellent . The entire team was very friendly and helpful.
Really good value for money and to notch service. Travel desk was great service. Food was good and the shsisha bar was a good addition. Location was good. Easy to get to bars, golf clubs and other places
For a chain like Hyatt , this place is a JOKE! I booked via bookings.com and selected( the quite normal option) to pay at the hotel. I got called by an employee asking me if I am still coming ( the booking was for the following day) and if so I must please pay immediately. I don’t mind paying but the attitude and patronising manner of the employee was on another level. I was told I am obviously not familiar with Bookings.com procedures( I use them nearly every week). This resulted in a fairly tiring back and forth. Arriving at the hotel I was more hopeful as the front desk staff was friendly and the room was nice. Sadly in SA we do have load shedding ( electricity down time) at times but for a hotel to switch the guest room power of and only let the generators run on the main areas is just ludicrous! This can maybe happen at a 1 star establishment- but the Hyatt????i was in the middle of a hair wash so needless to say slightly annoyed. We were told not to worry, it’s just two hours and there are torches in the room( which there was not). Do yourself a favour- stay away. There are far better spots in CT…
Definitely not Hyatt Regency standard. Staff were excellent that’s the only positive thing. Food was of extremely poor quality. Rooms & bathrooms are clean but definitely not 5 star. More like average 4 star.
We had a great stay at the hotel. The facilities and cleanliness were great. The staff were helpful and friendly - this includes reception (even the Liverpool fan - we don’t hold it against him!) , restaurant and cafe, shisha/bar area, cleaning staff and security. Location-wise it’s close to the city centre and waterfront. There are some nice restaurants and cafes in the area. We’d recommend getting a taxi to places, particularly in the evening but walks during the daytime are possible. The gym is of good size and decently equipped. The sauna and steam room looked good but we didn’t use them. You can book allocated slots for privacy and Covid precautions.
