We stayed in the hotel as last leg to our holiday.. I must say all the staff at the hotel are extremely courteous and are on toes all the time to serve you. Our check in was extremely smooth and Mr Papy Mingashanga the guest relations manager did his best to ensure we had a great stay .. kudos to the team and Tajness an experience we will never forget
Upon arrival, having booked with Trip.com AND booking 2 rooms, checkin was unaware that I had booked 2 rooms. I was then asked to prove that it was indeed two rooms. The hotel was fully booked due to the Mining indada. Apparently it was Trip.com fault, but nevertheless, not knowing 2 rooms have been booked is a clear lack of care. We checked in early but our rooms werent yet avaliable. When asking to put my bags away, I counted 9 occasions that staff asked what room I was in, staff may be trained to do a job, but do not listen when I said "we dont have a room yet". I had booked a Luxury Tower room, but was given 2 Single Heritage rooms. This stay wasnt getting any better. Rooms were lacklusterly cleaned, scuffs, marks and dirty furniture was the status quo. A cigar lounge in a hotel that doesnt provide cigar lighters nor cutters alongside laundry service where I asked for folded and the shirt came back hung. I know that these are small things, but when people spend their hard earned money on a "luxury 5 star" chain that themselves market in the lobby as the top 50 hotel brands in the world, it really didnt seem like it. The public bathrooms were dirty and at no stage did anyone welcome me back. I dont think I will be staying here again. The positive however was the bar staff, the two gentlemen there are fantastic and are the guiding light of the hotel.…
We booked a room for 3 nights to celebrate my wife's birthday. They spoilt us with chocolates, wine, and rose petals in the room and bathroom with candles. The staff were great. They allowed us to store our luggage as we had a late flight out also. The manager, Mr Pappy, went out of his way to accommodate us, and the barman, spoilt us with tea at no charge. It was eveident
Everything was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The view of the mountain from 1208 was amazing, and it was good to be able to see the parliament buildings and square, though sad to see the fire damage. The breakfasts were okay, but we prefered to explore Bree Street and the surrounding areas for different experiences. Super tasty options everywhere. My overall impression of the Taj in Cape Town is that it had everything we needed, but did not have any wow factor. There was no bar that we wanted to drink at, or cool spaces in the hotel just to sit and enjoy coffee and a view. However, we would likely recommend it as a good, solid higher end business hotel. The location is fantastic, and the room very comfortable.
The room was spacious and was really great that the bathroom had both a shower and bath in it... Jason and front desk staff were very helpful and friendly and cleaning staff were deligent in there work. Food was great we really enjoyed the free breakfast
