Good location, staff friendly. rooms ok - IF YOU CAN GET INTO THEM. The electronic key machine was not working so they could not give us (2 couples) keys to our rooms. They had to send a staff member with a device to "break into the rooms". This takes at least 5 mins. So you you have to wait while the man plays with codes he punches into the device. You go to breakfast, the man has to "break in again" when you return to the room. Too bad if other people finished breakfast just before you, you just have to wait your turn until they "break in again". Woe betide you if you leave your romm and have forgotten something. You have to go back to reception, get the man with the device and "break in again" This has been going on for 4 days. No end in sight. They promise it will be fixed ever day. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL UNLESS YOU LIKE STANDING AROUND OUTSIDE YOUR ROOM WHILE THEY FIND THE MAN TO "BREAK IN" . The staff are apolegetic but its not their fault. The management are incompetent - no back up, or they havent paid the key card company so they wont deliver a new key card machine,

Perfect location. Close to myCiti bus stops. Rooms very spacious. Lovely large bathroom. Above a shopping center with a Woolworths food. Breakfast basic but not bad. Free parking. Whole experience value for money. Negatives: reception tacky, housekeeping team needs serious attention in terms of service and training. Some staff unfriendly and unprofessional. Not enough towels in room, even after asking. Cot not in room, even after pre arranging. Tabels at breakfast were not fully set, some in need of spoons, cups etc. I had sent emails asking questions about transport etc and never received replies.

We stayed for five nights and we found our very large room to be perfectly equipped, with a safe, a fridge, tea making equipment, wifi, a very large bath tub, a shower and even a desk. It was also commendably quiet. There is no grand entrance, but the service is good and the breakfast is varied and substantial. We had a hire car, so the free underground parking was very useful. There are many restaurants nearby and the area felt very safe.

We really love the location, in the hub of it all, near good restaurants. A really good breakfast was included in the price and it was a pleasant atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We will forsure return to this spot. The security at the parking was very helpful.

Ready to explore the Sea Point neighborhood of Cape Town? The New Kings is an ideal starting off point for you. I enjoyed my clean and comfortable room, the most attentive staff, and cool neighborhood shops. Breakfast was a delight. I enjoyed a full meal with an array of fresh, seasonal fruit (lychees!!) I can’t wait to visit again!
