Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This cute little hotel offers big, comfortable stylish rooms with all amenities. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful with fresh coffee on arrival. The location suited us - easy to get to V&A waterfront and restaurants. Highly recommend.

A room was booked for us through our cruise. It appeared that we were in one of the cheapest room which was not the best. Your experience of how you rate the hotel depends on which room you have. Our room was small with a 4 x2 feet balcony with one tiny plastic chair and a wall which made it claustrophobic. Our shower leaked and there was tepid water after running the shower for five minutes. There was no comfy chairs to sit on to relax. The room had no view and limited day light. We were given two bottles of water on the first day only and told that we would have to pay for more. When you pay for three days, the expectation is to get water everyday. The telly was quite small. On the plus side, the room and hotel were spotless and very clean. The bath products were of good quality. The bed was comfortable. The staff were amazing, charming and efficient. It was not warm enough to swim in the small pool but there were plenty of sun beds. The breakfast was really good with fresh fruit, cereal, pastries. Staff also cooked hot dishes of omelette, sausages and bacon on request. I think the experience in staying in this hotel would depend on which room you get. The better rooms have more amenities but the lower level rooms are somewhat lacking.

Room Tip: The nicer rooms would give a better experience but would cost much more.

This a delightful small hotel with super rooms. The room my wife and I booked was large with a walk in shower, large double bed a plenty of space. It also had a small terrace for our exclusive use which gave us the added bonus of being able to enjoy a peaceful early evening glass of wine outside. The staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. Breakfast was served under huge umbrellas on the deck area by the pool, very nice. Food offering was good with eggs, etc cooked to order any way we chose. Lunch was on offer but we didn’t indulge so cannot comment on that. The location in Green Point is very handy for a walk along the sea front and the Waterfront is an easy walk. It was very straightforward to get Ubers to and from restaurants, etc. We would definitely recommend the Dysart Boutique Hotel and we hope to return.

The staff, amenities, cleanliness, proximity to restaurants were all top notch. Breakfast was amazing! Felt safe, comfortable at all times. Our room was sound proof and we never heard any traffic noise or any distractions. It was a great place to adjust to the time zone and recover from jet lag There was always somebody around to answer questions or help out. Would highly recommend!

Room Tip: Very narrow street. If you are planning on having a car, arrange with Dysart for parking inside....

My partner and I stayed here for 1 night but wish it could have been many more! The thoughtful and quirky design of the hotel lobby and room is absolutely stunning, we loved the artwork, private patio area beneath lemon and lime trees, and the huge, airy bathroom with two sinks. Beautiful pool area with well placed loungers. The staff were incredibly warm, friendly and accommodating, particularly when our flights were changed last minute and we were at a loose end. Cannot recommend highly enough for couples/solo visiting Cape Town.

Unfriendly management, staff are quite nice but poorly trained. No airconditioners in the room, no water in the room, very limited food and drinks menu. The rooms were very small. Not sure how they got a 5 star rating, this is not south african 5 star.

Great little hotel! Shelley really is a great host and so welcoming. Hotel is in a great location, room was huge (bed was amazing) and breakfast was lovely! Lots of nice little touches around the hotel but the staff make the hotel! Thank you again for the stay. Will definitely return!

Recently stayed at the Dysart, staff were friendly and welcoming. The facilities are beautifully decorated with quirky styling. Room was spacious and included breakfast more than met all requirements and tastes. The hotel is in a great location to explore Cape Town, close to the green point area and a short walk to V&A precinct.

The Dysart was super. We had a room with a lovely balcony view right over Green Point and out to sea. The parking is secure (although you might struggle to fit a large car in teh garage - our little hatchback was fine, and they even helped us park it). The hotel also feels very safe with someone at the desk 24/7. The staff are extremely helpful and have lots of tips for things to do and where to eat. The V&A Waterfront is just a few minutes away in an Uber.
