Feels always like getting back home when we arrive!!! Fantastic views! Very nice pool with views on the Atlantic Ocean. Amazing service! Very kind staff who will do everything to make your stay unforgettable!! All rooms are amazing and comfortable!!! We get back every year!!!
We've just returned from two weeks in Cape Town and Hermanus and stayed again at The Atlantic View - for the fifth time. That tells you a lot really! We have always loved this little gem and really feel at home. Cape Town is a beautiful city and we prefer to stay on the Atlantic Seaboard. Why stay in a city with a wonderful seaside location if not to be near the sea? But where? Camps Bay ticks so many boxes. It has a thriving restaurant scene overlooking a stunning beach. The setting is peerless. But for some, the "strip" on Victoria Road can be a little too busy. This is where the Altantic View comes in. It is located on Francolin Road, above Camps Bay Drive, so is away from the hustle and bustle and you can drop in and out, as you wish. The hotel, with only ten rooms and suites, has a fleet of three Mercedes and a Range Rover at the disposal of guests, so a member of the charming and professional front desk team will take you wherever you want to go and pick you up later. The hotel itself was fashioned out of two adjacent houses with great taste, flair and attention to detail by its American owner Greg Boki. It now has ten rooms/suites in the two buildings; four in the orignal building which also houses the front desk and a restaurant and bar below, the newly available separate owners suite, and five (four of which are spacious suites) in the second building, which also has a very fully equipped gym. The views are breathtaking. Even though we've stayed so often, the view of Camps Bay below, as you enter the stylish entrance lobby into the reception area still take the breath away. And to the right is the Lion's Head. Then, as you turn to face the mountains, is Table Mountain, with the cable car station at the top clearly visible. And sweeping to the right are the majestic peaks of the Twelve Apostles. Stunning. The hotel has two pools surrounded by decking - one for each building. This season the heating has been transformed by the addition of heat pumps, one of many improvements this year. The water is a comfortable 30 degrees. And since every room has its own allocated sun loungers, there is none of the all too common nonsense of having to struggle for a bed. Our room, the 650 square feet Penthouse Suite, has been upgraded too. A lovely new floor, much larger wardrobe space and an extended terrace, complete with a day bed, table and chairs and a hammock. It is a wonderful spacious suite for a relaxing stay. Breakfast is served in the room at a time of your choosing. A beautiful fruit platter with bread/croissants and other little treats is the basic. Then you are offered a cooked option, with a menu, but you can just say what you want. The old bar area has been upgraded too and now incorporates a restaurant with a full service menu for lunch and dinner. And the complimentary happy hour (more than one hour really!) at 7 pm, when wine and delicious canapes are served, continues. It's a very nice way to start an evening and meet your fellow guests, some of whom have become friends over the years. So we have a five star location, with five star rooms and facilities. But the thing which truly elevates a hotel to proper five star status, in my view, is five star service. This is what we receive from the young, professional, enthusiastic front of house team. This is led by Jean, who arrived in the country from the Democratic Republic of the Congo some years ago, speaking little English, joined the hotel team six years ago, and is now the excellent general manager. The other members of the team - Leslie, Vito, Liam, Justine, Jonelle and Rebecca are all truly excellent. Nothing - nothing - is too much trouble and that makes for a wonderful experience. We are already making plans to return next year. An exceptional place. If you like intimate little gems do try it - but leave room for us!…
We spent two nights there and wish we could have stayed longer. Lovely location, incredible views. Brilliant food. Friendly staff. We'll be back - its an absolute 'no brainer'. Well worth it. Just go for it.
Flawless and friendly service - Mansu & Calvin were always there when you needed them. Beautiful hotel - open, light and clean. Amazing views - as good as you would hope for. Couldn’t recommend highly enough - we loved our stay here and will definitely return.
Just a quick note to thank the whole team for another amazing stay. Greg your personal involvement is always appreciated. Such an amazing location, views, rooms, wines, breakfasts and more. I am heartbroken that yet again the travel industry is being thrown into disarray just as you come into your high season. Such a shame that we only had two days to stay this time - will definitely make it longer next.. I would happily recommend Atlanticview to anyone
