Driving from Joburg to Cape Town we passed through Beaufort West in need of a stopover. This fitted the bill. On the main road, secure parking and a simple but perfectly adequate restaurant next door.

Overnight stop on way to Cape Town. Off Road Parking was tight. An earlier time for breakfast would have been appreciated. Room was clean and comfortable. Cost for supper was expensive for what was offered.

Pleasant convenient small guest house with good air conditioning and off street parking. A welcome swimming pool. Choice of breakfast - plain but well presented. The staff is welcoming. Our third stay!

A lot left to be desired from this "4 star accommodation". Reception takes place, talking to you and checking you in trough a locked security small gate. Very insulting after a day of exhausting driving. Family room had a size of a single room and smell of urine, barely had space to go around the beds, the bank bed was...

We stayed here for one nite during busy dec period and was shocked that the place is poorly managed by the owners due to the following: 1) we had water on floor in the bathroom when we arrived and it turned out that there was a burst pipe in toilet resulting in major plumbing work needed, when I raised the...

You arrived screaming abuse at me about 'a burst pipe in the wall', something beyond our control. These things happen unfortunately, usually at the most inconvenient times. If a had another room available I would have moved you immediately. All I could do was call in the emergency pllumber who fixed the problem immediately. You created such a horrible atmosphere...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the 3 Chimneys. After driving 9hours it was a refreshing break. We swam in the pool which was cool and lovely. The rooms are beautifully furnished. The bedding and beds were extremely comfortable and luxurious. We did not eat there due to time constraints on our side. Thank you to Joyce and her staff!...

If you really need to stay in Beaufort West, the 3 Chimneys is probably as good as anywhere else. The positives are that it is on the main drag through town. It is easy to find and there is a secure place to park. The welcome sherry was welcome and I got everything I expected from a 12 hour stop...

The staff were friendly and informative. We only stayed one night. The room was large and well maintained. There is a kitchen that can be used by guests. I had a chance to walk around the house before leaving. It is lovely and well decorated.

An old home that has been well cared for and has a couple of modern touches. The rooms are small to standard size. The bathroom in my room was particularly small and cramped...but clean. TV available in the rooms. Within walking distance of a few eating places. There's a swimming pool with a nice patio to cool off in the...

I didn't think installing 'double glasing' in the back rooms was neccessary as they are quite protected but obviously 'light sleepers' are still affected?. There are sleeping aides in the little jar next to the bed. Thank you for your review and giving us the opportunity to explain the negative issues. All the best for 2017

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
DEAR GUESTSThe 3 Chimneys Guest House is a charming Victorian Villa, built in 1900 and is packed full of original features such as, Oregon pine floors, lead pressed ceilings and many more.It was home to General Louis Botha in 1914. (Anglo-Boer war)Godwin & Joyce, your Hosts (owner operated), have newly renovated, extended and decorated the establishment, being sympathetic to the era but with your comfort in mind. Our vision is still evolving! It consists of 6 en-suite rooms of various sizes with an aim to accommodate the single business man/woman and families alike. Camping cot available extra and can fit in most rooms. We are renown for our personalized delicious meals and offer our set 3 course 'candlelight dinner' (Mrs Bucket :D) as well as a fresh fully cooked English breakfast in our dining room or in the tree shaded, bird friendly courtyard overlooking the swimming pool. (A kiddies menu always available)Our bar is fully licensed! Relax and enjoy a pre-dinner drink in the guest lounge (in front of a roaring fire in winter). There are 'board games' too & watch your favourite program/sport on a large plasma TV with full 'DStv service'. A 'grassed swing play area' has just been added for the kiddies. Our rooms are comfortable, beautifully decorated & spotlessly clean, air conditioned (Room 6 exception, has industrial ceiling fan) and offer tea/coffee facilities, bottled water, hairdryers, DStv 'hotel bouquet' (due to popular demand we have just added 'kyknet' and disneyJ'), Wi-Fi and mini desks for the businessman/woman. As we don't recommend you drink the tap water (lime) cold bottled water is on tap in the dining room. You are welcome to use our fridge/freezer, iron and “microwave facilities at off peak times in the kitchen.” Laundry by arrangement (for long stays).Your safety is also our concern. There are fire extinguishers at various points, 24 hr armed response, security gates and perimeter wire. Our parking area is behind gates with remote control for your convenience.Your happiness and comfort is OUR PRIORITY. ... more   less
