Rooms were comfortable and well equipped. double beds and clean. location good as it is next to family restaurant. security and parking good (safe and secure). Did not pay extra. good for overnight stay as family and price fair.

A little dingy, bathrooms not so great. There's still rubble under the basins and people use it as a rubbish bin. It doesn't get cleaned out either. Aircon is great. No lift so don't bring too many bags.

Rooms are clean, relatively big, and well priced. Value for money as an overnight stop over to and from Johannesburg. Secure parking is available, but an extra charge of R30. No lifts, so try and get a room on the first floor if you have lots of luggage to haul around. Book a superior room - no difference in price...

I've stayed at this hotel and i wasn't impressed. I couldn't use the telephone in my room for my business teleconferences as there was a problem with the line and it was blocked. The trainee at reception couldn't do anything about it so i had to use my mobile phone for 3 hours. 2 Evenings in a row. I thought...

Why do they have names like diamonds when they are the complete opposite. Dark dingy rooms. Hotel smells of disinfectant. Rooms dark and stale. TV has few channels. No room service, can see why. There are better, brighter and cleaner hotels in the town Or Rather go to a Guest house.

Being a recent Prokard sign up, we thought it would be good to stop over on the way through to our family gathering in Gauteng. I duly booked with express instructions to secure us adjoining rooms, which are available in this hotel. (if you get it right a nice touch for the family). Unfortunately there was a communication issue between...

You dont have a lot of hotel options in Kimberley. This protea hotel is much older. Lower your standards there will be no five star service here. We arrived friday night, the hotel is only 2 storeys up and there are no elevators. Watch the stairs they are quite steep if you are wearing heels. The carpets in the rooms...

We checked availability and rates using a smartphone on Protea’s own site, but ended up getting a significantly better rate just walking in; the “best rate” is posted on a sign on the front of the hotel (as is the case with many Protea hotels), but this was open to further negotiation at reception. This is a pretty standard Protea...

This hotel used to such a nice and friendly place! I have been so many times but recently their service is so poor! The person who checked us in wad rude, we waited forever for our room service order and during breakfast it took at least 15 minutes to get my tea! I'm disappointed by the service!
