Wonderful camping spot, it doesn't matter where you are (some allotments have electricity, others don't), there will always be all sorts of monkeys around you (including the endangered and very cheeky Samango) so watch your stuff! Apart from that we had a variety of little bucks around our tent, some so tame that you could almost touch them (no feeding...

We spent a weekend at Cape Vidal, with the intention of snorkeling and exploring the wildlife area. It was our first visit and was looking forward to a relaxing weekend with friends. Our first impression was good. Most stands were taken and it was quite difficult to park the caravan on the small sandy stand. We were warned about the...

My family and I stayed at Cape Vidal from 27-31 January 2016. Weather was great and scenery beautiful. Cabins old, dirty and not value for money at all. Water not fit for human consumption. Monkeys are a terrible pest, they will even try and open the front door. They literally stole (grabbed) food out of our hands! In town, the...

Lovely setting, great beach. Chalet was disappointing. Roof leaked, stove tripped the power when turned on. The water stank of sewerage and was not fit for consumption or bathing or showering. They even had a sign up in the chalet telling people not to drink the water but never made mention of the problem at time of booking. If you...

My wife and I have recently camped at Cape Vidal. We absolutely love the location, however we have noticed a remarkable decline in the facilities, service levels and lack of up keep. This is our third visit in a year and this decline has become very noticeable. The camp is dirty and this is what largely cause the monkey problems...

Cape Vidal used to be a flagship destination. We went there on a recent visit and was shocked to find the lack of reinvestment of funds into the maintenance of the cabins. However, the reception area is spotless and well maintained. Stay does not come cheap, so what are they doing with the funds? The wooden decks at the chalets...

Cape Vidal was our first stop for our family holiday. We arrived after the office was closed on the 11th of September 2015. We made arrangements to get our key for cabin no 7. When we arrived at cabin no 7 (this is now after a long tiring day of traveling) the cabin was not cleaned!! Cigarette stumps, dirty dishes...

We have just returned from Vidal. The cabin (24) was in a bad way. The door to the unit could only be opened from the outside so we went through veranda door. There was no toaster, no frying pan and the kettle had not been cleaned before we arrived. Thank goodness we took our skottel otherwise breakfast would have been...

Can't really speak for the other cabins, but pray you don't get log cabin number 20. We are a family of campers, and are very aware of the monkey problem. But, we were quite taken aback by just how bad it was (especially in our cabin). We could see, and confirmed with management, that they'd installed new windows...BUT, failed to...

We camped there in roof top tents as 2 couples for 2 nights. We are used to camping in the wild & it was not what we expected at all. Initially frightfully disappointing, the camp was very crowded and the campsites very close together if not on top of each other. Some are really tiny & pokey, others very spacious....
