The Resort is built around a golf course and has about 100 timeshare chalets and an international hotel. It is a five star resort and is immaculately maintained. This visit was when the international travel was still banned due to Covid-19 and the local timeshare owners were the vast majority of the guests at the resort. Each chalet faces on to the golf course and you watch golfers playing from your balcony. There is also a large hippo pool with a hide that allows you to watch the hippos, crocodiles and birds as the world slowly passes you by. The 6 bed chalets have two bedrooms downstairs and one upstairs. One bathroom is ensuite for the main bedroom and the other serves the other bedrooms and the guests. The second bathroom has a huge walkin shower that is so big that it doesn't even need a door to stop scattered water. Large kitchen with dish washer despite the units being fully serviced. Large braai outside. We love this resort and this was our fourth year coming back. The resort kitchen has introduced take aways of pizzas and burgers that you can order to eat at your chalet. They also offer breakfasts and dinners for sit down guests. There is also a well stocked privately run shop on site for the essentials. There are six swimming pools around the resort, a seperate pool for each cluster of chalets and the hotel. The Phabeni gate to the Kruger Park is only 14 km away and has plenty of day passes, meaning the resort is a great place to stay when wanting to visit the KNP. The town of Hazyview is only 2 km down the road selling everything from fast food, groceries, and even building supplies. The resort is about 400km from Johannesburg and takes about 6 hours by car to get from Johannesburg. Cell phone coverage and internet connectivityt is very good. The staff were very helpful and cheerful.

Though the facilities on offer at this resort are world class the service delivery is POOR. Prior to arrival, I had specifically requested for 1 king room & 1 double room. When checking in, my needs were not met and I had to settle for a room with 2 double beds. The front office were not helpful in this regard and didn’t do anything about it except make excuses. In addition to this, THE ROOMS ARE TINY, the bathroom barely had space to move and being in the room was cluster phobic. As Muslims, we had made specific requests for halal food and this was met by the chef on duty. However, the food was not to standard. All our meals were bland, undercooked and clearly stored in the freezer for a very long time. Breakfast was mediocre. Service at the restaurant was very slow and waiters seemed to be disinterested unless a hefty tip was given to them Driving down to Sabi we noticed the amazing amount of fruit farms. It was shocking to notice that none of these fruits were available at breakfast. All the fruits were sticky, NOT FRESH and not pleasant at all. Being a Platinum Member of Tsogo Sun hotels and having stayed at several hotels under the group, this was a very unpleasant experience and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Breakfast was good. The location was good. Facilities were good. Staffs were helpful. Celebrated the birthday there and the staffs came dancing with cake and flowers. Loved it!! Braii dinner was cold and dry. Rooms were small.

We found this cute little gem, hidden away on the back road to Sabi...it's a husband and wife run cutie little coffee shop... Stunning views, stunning sweet deserts.. Magical food and wonderful sights and sounds... If you are around the neighbourhood.. Pop in.. Unpack your stress box and just allow your lazy energy to soak in the beauty of it all. They have some amazing cakes.. Milkshakes to die for and a curio shop that will make u want to just spend lots of hard earned cash, cause let's face it... We all love finding stuff to take home to remind us of the wonders of Hazyview and the surrounding towns

Food was of the usual excellent quality. Service was friendly, competent and covid-protocol-adherant. Family rooms in hotel are a bit cramped. Desk should be smaller to better utilise the limited space better. Close to Paul Kruger and Phabeni Gates. Recommend staying here and travelling into the park, versus staying in the park. Grounds are stunning. Hippo pool was the main attraction this time around as the hippos had just had their babies. One could spend hours sitting on the conveniently placed benches, observing the hippos. Lots of activities for the kids and adults with a friendly co-ordinator. We had reason to request medical assistance from the on-site paramedic, Marius. He was kind, friendly and competent. Highly recommended for a family getaway. Not recommended if you want to do the panaroma route - you might want to book in Graskop for this instead, as the potholed route from Sabi River Sun to Graskop is quite treacherous, lengthy and boring.
