Unfortunately this was just a stop-over for 1 night, because we loved the place. Very relaxed, with a good room, friendly staff and excellent food and whine. There is a nice swimming pool too and the view is beautiful.

Chestnut Country Lodge was an excellent recommendation from a South African friend for one night of being spoiled after a superb but expectedly tiring time in Kruger National Park. We exchanged the long days of driving and animal spotting for very comfortable spacious rooms overlooking a beautiful valley, a refreshing swim and an excellent dinner. We traveled from Lower Sabie... More

We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff and the room was really lovely (as was the welcome basket) Dinner is a set meal but very good... More

Luxury room.? No TV No Safe Bathroom badly maintained. Packed breakfast pack was a joke. Only thing that resembled breakfast was the boiled eggs. Pestered with dinner menu at breakfast. Had the dinner on the first night and waited ages between courses and still hungry afterwards. Good job we had food in the car.

We stayed at Chestnut on our way from Petoria to the Kruger Park. The great reception and the settings in the middle of the woods and plantations directly gave the real start for our african journey. The accomodation and food where great and we enjoyed the settings with the impressive Chestnut tree and views on the surroundings. Definitively recommended.
