We stayed here for two nights. The little houses are of good size. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom (shower en toilet) was good and clean. Sink is in your room itself. the refrigerator for your drinks, breakfast, meats and salads (braai) is outside on the patioarea of your little house. Every house has got its own braai spot. The Restcamp is...

The houses are clean and spacious , nothing fancy. Satara is still the best camp in Kruger for location and has far less irritating crowds than in the South. Remains the most productive Game viewing area.

Big camp for a basic accommodation inside Kruger park, clean apartment houses organized in circles, only single beds put together as doubles, nice private fire place to cater yourself if needed. Good shopping possibilities on site, family friendly, also pool area, also suitable for groups, good value, nothing fancy.

We enjoyed our stay here. This area if Kruger national park had great animal viewing. We took two sunset tours from here and were lucky enough to see hyenas and leopard. The rest camp area is nice and mugg and beans restaurant is good place to get some food and relax. Our rooms were sufficient. They aren't high end or...

Satara is known for all it's beautiful game sightings in its central location. The camp is neat and rooms provide everything you need for your time in the bush. The provided accommodation is typically what you'd find in the Kruger and what you grow to love. This camp remains our favourite!

Basic&clean room. Little bit expensive as most of the accommodations in kruger. We stayed 1 night in the kruger and the other three nights we stayed just outside the gates. One night inside the kruger was more then enough for us, just to experience one night drive (which was very good at Satara) in the Kruger.

We just spent 2 nights at Satara and enjoyed our visit. We were lucky enough to reserve a year in advance and snagged a perimeter room. From our room, we saw warthog and baby, elephants, monkeys, tons of birds and monitor lizard. The room provided a great little fully-stocked kitchen including fridge, hot plate, cookware/dishes and braai. There is daily...

We have stayed at Satara twice - one night in November 2014 and two in August 2015 - and both times were blown away by the amazing wildlife viewing opportunities in the area. Saw four lions kill a hippo calf at the dam just around the corner on our second visit! So it's definitely worth staying there for excellent sightings....

It just doesn't get any better than this. Cozy, comfortable accommodation and all the wildlife of Kruger. It's basic, but what more do you need than a comfortable bed, a hot shower and a braaie? And of course as always in Kruger, the staff are fantastic.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Satara is a busy camp, and not without reason. It is situated in an excellent game viewing area, with the bush relatively open and the animals plentiful and diverse. The camp itself has a rustic charm, with the bulk of the accommodation set out in a series of circles. Satara is well wooded and the bird-life is prolific. At night the clink of fruit bats is fused with the chirping of cicadas and crickets. The calls of owls and nightjars add to the symphony that is punctuated intermittently by the whoop of hyena, the screech of jackal and the roars of lion. ... more   less
