We stayed in one of the safari tents and it really was lovely. Clean, comfortable and spacious. The communal kitchen and bathrooms were fine and all in all we had a lovely stay. We braai'd, as the camp restaurant is not good at the moment, but I hear a revamp is in the pipeline.

Had a one night stop over while traveling through kruger national park. Stayed in a permanent structure tent which had more than we needed for our stay including comfy beds, fridge, brai area, electric sockets and table and chairs on the veranda. Visited the elephant museum which is on site which was well worth a visit. Didn't eat in the...

Dropped in for lunch during a day trip into the park. Detoured around the tent restaurant in the middle and went to the main restaurant. Got the feeling we weren't welcome albeit there were more staff than patrons. If you tried to engage a member of staff other than your waitress you were ignored. Initial choices off the menu, when...

The check in was ok up to the point when we had to wait until 2pm for our key. When most people vacate early and my husband was sick this was annoying. No wifi at all. The cottage was clean and had seen some maintenance. The bushbuck in the camp were lovely. Good shop and pool. Fantastic views over the...

Well, yes, the bungalow had seen a lot of use but it was comfortable and very clean. Everything was old but in good working order. We took a 3 bed bungalow for the two of us and it worked out well - we had somewhere to put our luggage other than on the floor. We did not see there was...

Chalets old and tired for the price of accommodation but the surroundings are terrific, spotted lots of Hippo, elephant, crocodile and bok from the camp, lots of Duiker (small deer) wandering around the camp, day and night and quite approachable to take photo's, the place overlooks the Letaba river and has a Mug & Bean restaurant.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The idyllic Letaba Rest Camp is situated on a sweeping bend of the Letaba River, midway between the southern and northern boundaries of the Kruger National Park. The name means "river of sand", and the sandy riverbed is an excellent location for game viewing, particularly elephant, which thrive in the area. Letaba is a green oasis in the surrounding mopane veld, and remains a firm favourite with visitors. At night the stars overlook a symphony of sounds. Owls, nightjars, frogs, fruit bats, crickets and cicadas all vie to be heard, until the lion roars, then all are silent. ... more   less
