The lodge is secluded from the main road, necessitating some 6 kilometers travel over a dirt road. Following the coordinates on your navigating (advised!) will take you to the point where you need to turn off the main road. From there you will see signs. Best to do this with daylight. The lodge is beautifully laid out next to the...

This is the first place we stayed once we arrived in Africa. It was the perfect start to our adventure. Greeted by amazing staff and wild animals. Rooms are very large and grounds are very cute on the edge of a river. Staff did everything to make you feel welcome. We had a great candle lit dinner outside in a...

We stayed in the Kimba lodge and had a nice time. The kids loved the giraffes, zebras and pool. It's a sweet place. I'm a city girl and found the lizards in the thatched roof a bit scary. Some of the straw fell on us and that was 2 nights sleep gone for me. A warning would have helped. It...

A beautiful oasis far away from the beaten tracks. We enjoyed our stay in the Owl House at this really beautiful and quiet place. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the place is clean, the food is excellent and the whole environment is perfect. A bit away from the Rondavels, God's window etc. though. Hanne Denmark

We had the privilege of staying at the Kimba House at Blyde River Wilderness Lodge. It was really nice as it is in a private setting with our own rock pool and facilities. The children enjoyed the horses and the resident peacock. Nelson also took us on a short nature walk to see the giraffes. The food was ok, but...

This is one of my favorite places we stayed in our January 2016 South Africa trip! We stayed with a group of 11, and we all had a great time. It is a bit of a long and bumpy road to get there, but it was well worth it for the relaxing visit. We got in quite late after getting...

What a great place to be at. If you like to feel like a privileged guest of honour I recommend The Blyde River Wilderness Lodge. Here, just about 10 km. from the main road you feel like you are in an oasis in the middle of nowhere. My wife and I had a hard time finding the place. Without a...

Stopped over for a couple of nights on way to Kruger. Long bumpy road in but worth the effort. Accommodation very nice set in some lovely gardens. Zebra and giraffe in the outer grounds and easily visited. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Recommended.

Much nicer than the featured pictures on Trip Advisor suggest. Pros: The huts are well maintained with nice furnishings, the grounds are green and scenic, and the breakfast and dinner was quite good. They have some giraffe, zebra, peacocks, and nyala on site The nyala herd grazed right around our hut. Cons: fairly long bumpy drive in, but didn't bother...

We stayed here en route to Kruger from Blyde Canyon. Beware, it's a 6-7km drive off the R527 on a gravel road, which is fine, but my map didn't indicate it, and there were no instructions when we booked it. Once you get there, you will be happy you made the drive. The lounge and restaurant overlook the Blyde river,...
