Stayed for a business trip, Wilderness Manor was the best guest house I have ever stayed in, décor was elegant and classy. Rooms were large, comfortable and clean. Hosts were helpful. Great value for money amazing views planning on returning soon for a leisure stay.

We stayed at Wilderness Manor for two nights in January and we wish it had been longer. JD and Gerald made us feel so welcome and gave us so much of their time telling us about places to visit in the area. Although we had been to Wilderness before, we didn't know about the 'Map of Africa', which was an...

Myself and my wife (on our honeymoon) don't have many regrets about our holiday in South Africa but I think not having another night or two in Wilderness would be top of the list. The town has a lot to offer and staying in Wilderness Manor was a real treat. JD and Gerald are among the best hosts we've had....

Delightful situation overlooking the river which is particularly beautiful in the early morning or just as the sun sets. Several good restaurants 1 kilometre away which can be safely walked along the boardwalk by the river.

Very relaxing and wonderfully located. This guest house has wonderful hosts and an amazing breakfast. Gerald and JD run the place like clockwork. Lovely short walk into the small village where there are good places to eat. It's between knysna and George so visiting both these places is easy by car. The garden route certainly has lots to do and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Almost halfway between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth on the internationally renowned Garden Route and nestled between mountains and golden beaches, you will find one of South Africa's most favoured holiday destinations, the seaside village of Wilderness. Wilderness Manor is an elegant and refined guest house overlooking the beautiful Wilderness Lagoon, in the heart of the scenic village of Wilderness. Step out of the front door and cross the road onto the boardwalk for an easy and safe stroll to beaches, restaurants and village shops. Relax in the spacious guest lounge or reading lounge, with superb views from the balconies overlooking the lagoon. Wilderness Manor is luxuriously decorated in an African colonial style with fine oriental rugs, heirlooms, antiques, art and collectables which contribute to a refined and stylish ambience. Retire to the serenity of four stylish en-suite bedrooms: three luxury and spacious lagoon facing rooms on the second floor with superb views of the lagoon and one standard garden room on the ground floor with a private garden / patio. Look forward to our Continental buffet and English breakfast served in our breakfast room, opening onto a sunny balcony overlooking the indigenous forest where the Knysna Loerie often comes to feed... Whether you are passionate about water sports, hiking, extreme adventure or animal encounters, the Garden Route and Klein Karoo has something for you.
