Fairy Knowe is situated in a very nice environment. There is a lot of nature and the staff is really helpfull in planning activities. The dorm we slept in was nice, but looked a little bit old. The kitchen was fine. The only thing we missed was a nice place to sit inside (because we were travelling in winter season)....

I stayed two nights at Fairy Knowe. Its a very cute hostel with beautiful surroundings! They offer activities and are very helpful. Breakfast was very good! The only cons is the size of the dorms, they are small and also a bit cold in the winter. It also takes about 20min to walk in to town to get to the...

Hey there!! Thank you for your review :) We do drop staff off avery afternoon at 4pm and we also have a shuttle service running into the village (the notice is up at the front desk). I think you were perhaps in the 8 sleeper dorm upstairs - it is a big one, but the view from the room is...

Arriving at Fairy Knowe Backpackers, I immediately sensed that this would be a magical mid-week stop-over experience. The service was a bit slow on checking in, but I did arrive quite late (20:00) so it can be excused. After a quick tour, I was taken up to the "RIverside" room on the second floor of a homely building about 30m...

Bathrooms and Kitchen in poor quality, filthy and on the verge of disgust. Staff is very friendly and helpful, location is beautiful, but the place would need some more love! Its a pity to let it get to this point..

Thank you for your feed back! I think you might be refering to the building materials that was around the main house upon your arrival. May is usually our month of building maintenance, and I must admit that the maintenance staff did not tidy up after their day. I guess they were used to us closing down during May. I...

All basic necessities were available. Large fridge and freezer and stove, electric kettle and microwave oven and plenty crockery and kitchen utensils in the communal kitchen. Good friendly atmosphere. I stayed 5 nights and had no problems.

It could be the perfect place to stay at- great location, ok facilities, in woods with great life music in the bar. The staff just doesn't care about you at all, which made the experience unworth. No one should be treated that respectless. If you're fine with that, you can stay there.

great facilities, great atmosphere. Kayaking, bar, live music on some nights, very tasty breakfast, good value for money. Would definitely recommend any young(ish) couple stay here whilst on the garden route.

Nice vibey place, great bar area and friendly staff! Lovely natural surroundings close to the river great canoeing. The main house could do with an upgrade though - the floorboards are very old and non existent in some places, the staircase is loose, the toilet leaks and there was mould in one of the showers, old carpets need to be...

We had a short but pleasant stay in Fairy Knowe. The location is quiet and pretty and activities are available onsite, as is a bar and meals. The kitchen and bathrooms need a complete makeover in the old farmhouse. Bring mosquito repellant.
