This place was sold!!!!! It's partially owned by many people. There is not a front desk. The security guy sits there with a had written note that you have to compare booking numbers to. No computer to confirm anything. While showing us to the so called room, the way there is run donw and disgusting. It looks like a run down apartment building. The room was a joke. The blinds are so broken, it was tied up in a knot. The windows looks like its sandblasted because it never gets washed. The "bathroom" is disgusting. I had to sanitise my hands after opening the door. There is no bar, showroom, swimingpool, reception or any minimum requirements to be a hotel. Its really the worse place i have ever been ever.

DO NOT I repeat DO NOT book at this so called hotel 4 stars? No thanks. I'd rather stay in a caravan park What kind of a hotel has its front doors chained. You get a voicenote from the owner telling you what time you may check in. Seeing as we were arriving after that time, we had to enter the hotel through a back entrance There was a security guard at the abandoned reception who gave us a room key What they advertise is misleading and they should have their 4 star grading rechecked Theres a market for this hotel, but it's definitely not 4 star Theres no management on site and in the event of an emergency, I shudder to think of the consequences when the reception area is manned by a minimum wage security guard and his friend. Needless to say I'm R1000 plus short in pocket as we felt so unsafe and disappointed in this hotel that we rather took the risk and drove all the way back to Durban instead of having to stay the night here If I have to describe this hotel in one word........ SCAM

You cant book at this hotel so you are put in another hotel on the same property, which they now call Margate Beach Lodge(not even listed on trip advisor). They use students from a nearby college as staff(interns) with hardly any supervision. Some of these staff are absolutely friendly and some are downright arrogant. The management is rude and does not have respect for guest. You will also have to wait +-30minutes for your breakfast and even more for dinner. No bar or swimming pool facilities. Ive been to this hotel more than 6 times with the hope of improvement and I wont be going back.

No bath towels, staff refused to help with basics, said we must ask the owner because we did a 'Private" booking. some entrances and parts of the hotel were not available for us to use and we had to use back entrances. website said deluxe room but reality was below standard room. Totally disappointed!!!

Beautiful building with all amenities however it seems somewhat abandoned. the pool area was under maintenance and the gym was closed during our visit. There is an eery plumbing odor which encapsulates the entire building except in the actual suites. not far from the beach and restaurants are fairly near within walking distance of the hotels main entrance.
