The facilities are under new management. It's now called cradle moon lakeside lodge. The improvements are stunning. The fact of being in the wilds of Africa with a stunning water side view and only 30 minutes from the city. They have bicycles for rent and many cycle tracks through the park. We had a lunch at the outside restaurant. Great... More

Was there as Maid of Honour for my cousins wedding. At the moment it is rather chaotic with all the renovations. Slightly pricey for staying on a renovation site but it is pretty and can imagine once the place is fixed up it will be fabulous. Evenings are cold and wasn't prepared for it so ensure you have extra blankets.... More

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. It was fairly busy 7 or 8 tables. The resort is undergoing renovations and has great potential. New outside bar area is great but the rest is a bit run down. The R30 each entrance fee me and my 11 yr daughter was over the top! I was curious.. Now I know, I'll wait until... More

I have been at the Ranch twice. Once in 2011, once in 2015. The first time was on a weekend while working in Joburg, we went for lunch on saturday, and spontaneously decided it was so nice that we could stay the night. The restaurant & food are not perfect, there are better places. But it is clean, and there... More

I went on a Game reserve Safari nearby and when I returned to the lodge and went for a walk by the river at dusk I saw all the same animals on the game safari except for the Chita's and lions. The zebra come around noon time to drink out of the swimming pool. If you take advantage of the... More

Rooms are extreemly cold. DO not stay unless it is on sommer time. I book for 3 nights. Surprisingly I had to pay all my stay in advance. After first night, I decided to move to a new lodge because the room is too cold and the dirty blanket is not enough. asked for teh refund for the rest of... More

A good place to stay to explore Johannesburg and Pretoria areas. Outof the way and quiet but still within less than an hour to a sights. The restaurant is nice looking but the menue is very poor. Nice is the view from the rondavel with impala, giraffs and zebras walkin around and coming very close Beware of one thing though... More

Heia Safari Ranch is not an expensive venue for a corporate event and stay-over. The conference facilities and public areas are undergoing a make-over at the moment. The conference facilities are fine, and warm in the Joburg winter - and we were well taken care of by Lynne. The dining area and meal options can be improved, 5 of our... More

I have frequented Heia Safari Ranch for many years, and besides the usual friend get togethers, take large groups of people, including overseas guests, when they are in SA, for a meal. It is a beautiful country venue. The sad thing is that now it is under new management. To my surprise there has now been a gate fee charged... More
