For our first time in Jo'burg, we were referred to the Lucky Bean by several different friends who travel there frequently for business and pleasure. What a safe, fun, welcoming respite from that huge, crazy city. The owners and staff took amazing care of us (including loaning us a phone and helping us get around). Our room was beautiful, spacious,...

It was such a cute little place and loved my room. Will definitely stay here again on my stopovers in Joburg. Might be a bit difficult to find if you not familiar with the area but they do offer shuttle service which is great! Next time will try the breakfast. Pity I had to rush out

I love the Lucky Bean! I stay frequently when I'm working in Johannesburg and it is consistently excellent! Fun, calming and at the same time a caring place. When I was visiting with a colleague who fell ill a while ago Conway, Natasha, Pretty et al were fabulous at looking after her and making sure she had what was needed....

Stayed at Lucky Bean for four nights in early May, and would definitely recommend. It is tricky to get the balance right between attentive personalised service and privacy, and Lucky Bean gets it spot on. Very pleasant room with lovely terrace overlooking the CBD. Good location close to 7th street bars and restaurants. Conway and his team are at hand...

I spent 2 nights in this lovely guesthouse. It was clean, comfortable and secure. Breakfast is excellent and sets you up for the day. The staff are all really friendly and there is an honesty fridge with bottled water, beer and wine which you just mark on a list what you have had and it is added to your bill....

This guest house is absolutely excellent! Very nice location (just off 7th street), excellent room, parking spot, beautiful environment (in a nice garden) and above all: a very friendly and helpful staff. Conway and his team not only make you feel at home, but help you out on every issue, in particular on what to do and what to see....

I stayed at Lucky Bean for the last night of my holiday in South Africa, the rooms where massive, great showers, very comfortable bed. We weren't able to have a late check out but were able to leave our car and luggage at the Lodge for the day and keep our Gate Key so that we could get in and...

Set in a quiet environment, with a lovely garden and little pool, yet close to an animated street with bars and restaurant. Lucky bean is just perfect. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful, breakfast was good, free wifi a definite plus. It was a great stay, highly recommendable place

We stayed at the Lucky Bean Guest House from 29 March to 3 April during the SA National Archery Championships held at Marks Park. We used the same guest house last year as well as it is conveniently located near Marks Park, lovely restaurants and shops. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and cleaned daily. A nice breakfast was served every...
