Beautiful and clean guest house within walking distance of many restaurants and shops! Amazing breakfasts each morning and very friendly staff! I also recommend using the guest house driver for airport transfers and tours - he's very knowledgeable and helpful!

We identified this place from the lonely planet, it is clean comfortable and very friendly. The breakfast was delicious. The surrounding area is clean, stress free and safe. We spent 3 days here able to ' do Johannesburg' from pleasant surroundings.

We chose this property because it offers economical prices that include WiFi and breakfast, and is in a very safe, mostly residential neighborhood, that's walking distance to the restaurants, shops and nightlife of Johannesburg's Melville district. If you're into the small-scale B&B experience in a quiet area, Ginnegaap offers good value. It's not a perfect property, but is attractive and...

Thank you for taking the time to review Ginnegaap. It means a lot to us to know that our guests appreciate our efforts. We have recently enlarged our parking area and we can now accommodate more cars behind our gates with easier access in and out of the parking area. We are glad that you enjoyed our breakfast! We try...

I had a lovely stay at Ginnegaap! The place has a lot of charm and my room was large, bright and clean. The host was very accommodating when I asked to continue occupying my room on the last day until I had to leave for the airport. This enabled me to finish a text that was due for work.

Thank you for your great review of Ginnegaap. If it is at all possible for us and we have the rooms available, we allow guests to check out later without any additional costs. Glad this helped you to finish your text.

We stayed here for 3 nights, and enjoyed our stay very much. We hired a driver from the B and B to take us around the city, and his expertise was very much appreciated. We also had the chance to dine in restaurants within walking distance, that were great! If you are in Johannesburg, and looking for a neighborhood guesthouse,...

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at Ginnegaap. The guides we recommend to our guests are selected for their knowledge and love of Joburg which makes a visit to Johannesburg much more than just a stopover. Melville is such a great neighborhood of Johannesburg with some of the best restaurants right on our doorstep. So, no need to...

Nice breakfast and cleaning. But we have several problems with the staff. They put us ina bedroom (number 4) that is pretty much next door to the kitchen, so the loud noisy started everyday at 7am. The manager also didn't seem to care about or respect the resting time of her guests. she put such a loud music in her...

This was our second stay at Ginnegaap Guest House; our first time was in January 2013. There's a big reason we came back - THE BREAKFASTS! There are many tasty options for the hot breakfast, plus proper Greek yoghurt and fresh fruit, cereals, milk and juice, etc. on the buffet table. But it's not just the breakfasts we came back...

Thank you for returning to Ginnegaap and to write this review. We are trying to accommodate all needs with our breakfast and to keep it as fresh and healthy as possible. What makes Melville so great is the fact that you can safely walk around during the day and night. Sure, one must be on the lookout for opportunists as...

The location is excellent. Close to the streets with all the restaurants & shops. Our "Apartment" was clean and adequately furnished, although the mattresses were incredibly hard. The breakfast was very nice. The let-down was the parking. One long drive-way, guests park behind each other and subsequently must remove your car when person parked in front wants to leave. On...

With the small stands in Melville, parking is a problem at most guest houses. To be able to park all cars safely at night, we are renting a piece of land from the school next to us. For this reason we cannot make any changes or enlarge the area. Fortunately, it does not happen often that we are forced to...
