Pros: Room large and beds comfortable. Cons: Did not get given a key to the room and had to go and ask for it. The sliding door required two people to lock (one to turn the key & one to push heavily on the door so it actually went in). When we told the front desk, he said he would...

Where to possibly start…. If you are in the Johannesburg area and are looking for a beautiful, affordable, and hospitable option for accommodation, look no further!!!! I can’t possibly explain how amazing the people were at MoAfrika, but I’ am going to try. I’m from the US, I’m a female in my mid 20’s and was traveling alone… I had...

The lodge is situated in a quiet area approximately 15 minutes from the airport: great for a pre- or post accommodation to your safari tour. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful and they provide a range of good tours as well. Great lodge if you want to stay outside the bustle of central Jo'burg.

Location: there’s a Spar and another market nearby and the location is a nice selling point for the hotel because they’re situated very close to the airport. We rented a car so it took us only 16 minutes from and to the airport. They are located outside of the hustle and bustle of central Johannesburg which made us feel very...

The rooms were very clean, spacious, and of good value - especially after a month long camping trip. Comfortable bed but the TV didn't seem to work much at all. The food in the restaurant was average at best but still passable. Worst thing was the location as it was so far away from anything of interest. They offer tours...

If you want help from reception, you'll probably die waiting for someone to arrive. I arrived late and was flipped off by the receptionist, who eventually materialised, when I asked questions and needed help. Further, I went back to reception on several occasions and waited forever and no-one ever came. There are no phones in the room so you certainly...

Our travell agents recommended Moafrika Lodge We stayed here before and after our Safari to Kruger. We had the most comfortable bed i have ever slept on. It was extremly quiet and peaceful. It definitely did not feel like we were sleeping in the CIty.One other thing is we really enjoyed the service from Cori as she and the Moafrika...

Stayed here at the end of a camping tour through Africa. I knew this was where we were ending and so emailed the hotel 2 months in advance to make a booking. The invoice they sent had their bank details on it and so I did an international bank transfer to send them the balance. I realised this would make...

This place is awesome. Nice cozy accommodation for our final night of our Acacia africa tour. Nice common areas to sit and chat, and close to Joburg to head out to the markets and do some shopping. Comfy beds and cozy rooms. Definitely enjoyed my stay.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to MoAfrika Lodge. MoAfrika literally means 'African People' in the language of the local Sotho populace, the original inhabitants of the Highveld. Your host, Anthony, has skillfully created a unique lodge in which an African theme induces a warm welcome for guests. Set on a 8000 square metre land through which a stream flows, MoAfrika Lodge provides a rustic and tranquil setting where guests can unwind in a relaxed and country atmosphere. Why book yourself into a Hotel or Guest Houses when you can stay here at MoAfrika Lodge? MoAfrika Lodge has evolved from Anthony's place which has been operating since 2006. MoAfrika Lodge offers comfortable and stylish accommodation. Our rooms are spacious and are tastefully decorated in a truly African style. A large dining room and lounge flow unobtrusively into the cosy bar area. Guests may unwind around our sparkling swimming pool and enclosed wooden deck. MoAfrika Lodge is very conveniently situated less than 10km from Johannesburg Airport, O.R Tambo. ... more   less
