WE stayed here on our honeymoon and was stunned by the amazing customer service we received. We both work in the hotel industry and can honestly recommend this establishment. From the receptionist right through to the owner couldn't do enough to make our stay special, so much so that we stayed again on our return.. Will deffinately be back!!

What an absolutely marvelous place. The setting is out of this world. Stayed in Room 13, a twin bedded room with balcony. The Manor is situated on a prime piece of land at the mouth of the lagoon. Beautiful sunsets and amazing sunrises made me get up very early in the morning to capture it on film. Unfortunately the restuaurant... More

We arrived in Plettenberg Bay looking for a room for the night. While driving around we spotted the Trycolour flying and of course we had to stop...not many irish flags flying in SA. We haggled with the man at the door and handed over my teeshirt for a reduced rate! Our room was magnificent with a sea view and a... More

Just happened to come upon Milkwood Manor during our recent visit to South Africa and the garden route. Milkwood Manor has it all - location, scenery, restaurant, very attentive staff, and the owner - Case - is one of a kind. Thank you so much for such an enjoyable stay. Jennifer in California.

We booked one night and stayed for three! We could not get ourselves to leave this wonderful, majestic location! The owners were welcoming and accomodating, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were beautiful! I advise anyone traveling to South Africa to take the time and head for the Milkwood Manor. It is well worth the trip.

We really and truly had a wonderful stay. Everything was to our satisfaction and exceeded our expectations, from pre-trip booking to check-in reception, the bright, fresh well appointed room and bathroom and the beautiful views of the sea and the lagoon. Having breakfast and dinner at the Lemon Grass Restaurant was a treat with excellent service and wonderful views. We... More

We recently booked one night but stayed three nights. Milkwood Manor is a beautiful quaint hotel right on the ocean. The owner greeted us every morning at breakfast and sat with us for most of it. The staff was so nice and helpful. Anything we wanted or needed, the staff got it for us. I can not wait to go... More

The location of this beautiful property is magnificent. We walked out of our room onto the grass and virtually straight into the sea. The staff and especially the owner was exceptionally nice and friendly. I will definitely stay there again and recommend Milkwood Manor to other people.

We stayed here for two nights on our trip through south Africa from east to west. The location is marvellous with wonderful views of open sea and mountains from our room. We watched the sun rise on the Indian ocean each morning. The room had all we needed for a comfortable stay. The lemongrass restaurant on site did very enjoyable... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Location: The most enviable location on the Garden Route. At the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, jutting into the ocean - any closer and you would be in it! - as well as the estuary of a large lagoon- no neighbours but nature! Exquisite, unimpeded 180 views (360 from the roof deck) of the vast blue ocean, golden beaches, large lagoon and the imposing Tsitsikamma Mountain Range. Nature all'round, yet not isolated, but only a 2-minute drive from the town centre and its trendy shops.A pristine beach: accessible from the sheltered cove adjacent to the Manor - ideal for swimming in natural water – you may boat across to an unspoiled and usually deserted beach, far from built-up areas, traffic, crowds and noise. Blissful solitude and a complete immersion in nature, with only the sound of white-crested surf tumbling at one’s feet and the calls of a medley of seabirds – a veritable bird sanctuary. Becalming and rejuvenating - the perfect antidote for stress,. With luck you may even find the mysterious and sought-after pansy shell (sand dollar). The Manor: built in classic Georgian style, with an airy double-volume foyer and eleven double bedrooms, most with private patio or balcony. All rooms are decorated in crisp white and en-suite to a shower cubicle with/without bath, and a queen bed or twin beds, TV-hospitality package, free uncapped Wi-Fi, tea/coffee making facilities, safe, fan, heater and hairdryer. The sash windows allow the fresh ocean air straight in. ... more   less
