We stayed at the lodge for two nights as we were touring. The cabins are on the side of a hill outside Plettenberg in a green valley. The most memorable thing was the friendliness and enthusiasm of the owner/manager. He seemed genuinely interested in all his guests and made sure that everyone was happy. He is a mine of info...

The hosts, John and his wife, were very, very nice!!! We felt very welcome from the very beginning. We would recommend a renewal of the whole kitchen area...it is very, very outdated and looks not good.

Lodge gets a special personal touch through owner John who gave a very warm welcome on arrival. Rooms a nice and cosy. Private sitting area outside the room, communal sitting area with fridge to store own drinks or food. Well manicured garden and good sized swimming pool giving the lodge extra touch. Just relax and unwind, admire the view! Breakfast...

The owner John and manager Karen couldn't have been more welcoming, even buying a tub to bathe by daughter in as she doesn't like showers. John also gave us tips about what to do in the area, and was happy to help us with anything we needed. The lodge itself is set in beautiful gardens, with a great view of...

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Piesang Valley Lodge, it was great to be located just outside town in a peaculf and beautiful setting with stunning views, the rooms are very comfortable (apart from lack of a ceiling fan which would have made our stay absolutely perfect), great swimming pool and lovely breakfast. The owner John was...

Great place to stay in the valley overlooking the town. Lots to do and see around the lodge. Staff were very welcoming and helpful suggesting places to eat and things to do. Very relaxing place to stay complete with swimming pool and and an amazing view! We only wished we had time to stay longer!

We had a lovely 4 night stay at Piesang Valley Lodge over Christmas. John is extremely welcoming and will try and do anything for you. We don't like dogs but he was kind enough to keep them away during breakfast times (even though they did leave a lovely reminder on the grass area). The family room was pleasant enough, although...

I had the most wonderful Plett rest during the Plett rage of 2015. John is a mine of information for both local and foreign travelers. The lodge is conveniently located in a 15h reserve close to the N2. My stay was made very relaxed and enjoyable by John, Keren and Leonard, who cooked a beautiful breakfast every morning during my...

One is always warmly welcomed by John which straight away relaxes you and results in a more than pleasant stay over. We have become good friends and thus he will always have my support when travelling to Plett or passing through.

“Double rooms can be recommended, however you must be prepared to send your partner outside on the veranda if you need to use the bathroom (wall between bathroom and bedroom does not go all the way up to the ceiling). Self-catering unit cannot be recommended as the furnishing is extremely out-dated and the place is quite filthy.”
