Trennerys was a great place in which to relax and enjoy the beautiful Wild Coast. We enjoyed the food, excellent friendly service, and warm welcome of this family hotel. Suite 31 requires some refurbishment - most other Rooms have already been upgraded. The drive to Trennerys along the R72 through Port Alfred was easy, and the road unexpectedly good, with the added entertainment of crossing the Kei on the old style Pont.

Came to experience the Hotel for the day, started at the restaurant/Bar such an unwelcome environment by the staff. Foods great, location is breathtaking but as I mentioned the service was lack lustre and made us wish we went somewhere else before we ordered.

Pluses: - The staff were all SO friendly and helpful. We wanted to eat all meals outside due to COVID and they were so accommodating about that. Staff were also diligent about wearing their masks. - The hotel is a short walk from a gorgeous beach and lagoon. (This does involve an uphill/downhill walk, so take that into consideration if you have limited mobility, but the path is well managed.) - Pool, trampoline, game room, TV room and tennis court were great activity options, and tennis racquets and tennis balls were available at no charge. - The Gates Tour with Carlos (under Trevor's Tours) is a must-do. One of the most beautiful spots in the country and a chance to do cliff-diving if that's your thing. - If you need laundry done, the prices are reasonable and the service is quick and high-quality. Minuses: - The photos on the website seem to have been taken many years ago. The carpets are dingy and badly worn, and overall the rooms just need an update. - Be sure to check your room assignment, as room size and quality varies. Some have king beds, some just double. Some have a small terrace with a table and chairs; some do not. Some look out onto the garden while some look out onto the wall of the next chalet. Preferably avoid Room 3. - The website says family rooms are 64 sqm. Ours was more like 45--we paced it out. It was adequate for sleeping but not much more than that. Two bedrooms and a bathroom, no sitting/lounge area. Coffee station is a small shelf in the corner of the bedroom; no mini-fridge. We had an enjoyable stay overall, but we paid R3100 a night and thought that was about R1000 too high for the quality of the accommodation, even considering it was high season.

My wife and I spent a night at the hotel with friends. The seafood dinner was simply delectable. A wide range of seafood delights was on offer including fresh oysters which were in abundance. The buffet was well presented, and the food was prepared to perfection. The breakfast buffet with all the usual on offer was also good. We found management and staff very friendly and helpful. On the negative side… We did not particularly enjoy the staff singing around our table while we were still eating and them having placed their tip basket on our dining table was also not appreciated. This, however, did not significantly detract from our experience which was otherwise most enjoyable. Our accommodation was rudimentary but clean and comfortable and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

Hello, the stay at Trennerys was awesome. The food was good, I guess the lockdown regulations bring about many restrictions in terms of variety in the menu. I would like you to fix your beds. They are comfortable but are making a lot of squeaky noise when sleeping. The DSTV channel issue in the lounges also need your attention. Each lounge needs to have its own independent Dstv so that when people want to change channels in one lounge, it doesn't affect the other TV set. It creates a source of conflict among your guests.
